Interesting that the Jets are blaming their offensive woes on Schotty instead of Sanchez. I guess they can't cope with the fact that they'll need to take another 3 years to groom a new QB.

And so Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has resigned. Yes, he has resigned.

More accurately, he has “resigned.”

Per a league source, Schottenheimer resigned after being told by the Jets to get another job, or get out. With the Jaguars’ head-coaching job going to Mike Mularkey and no other team interested in Schottenheimer as a head-coaching candidate, it was time to go.

Looks like they are blaming all their failures on their OC and not the mediocre and often times sub par QB.

The Jets owed Schottenheimer more than $3 million over the next two years, and it’s unlikely that he’d walk away from that money. The source says the Jets created the impression that Schottenheimer would be back and otherwise talked him up in the hopes that he’d be hired elsewhere — and that the Jets would be off the hook for the buyout.

I can't wait to hear the details of the buyout as we watch the Jets' credibility almost literally circling the bowl.

Who wouldn't want to come to the NJ and play and work with this collection of finger pointing, backstabbing snakes...unless of course you're desperate for a gig. Haynesworth is probably faxing them his resume. Whines Ward too. Ocho might not be far behind. Could see Palmer as their veteran QB. And a few other Raidah's with insane cap hits vs. production their new GM from the GB school of building thru the draft isn't going to want to grapple with.

What?! It was flushed long ago. Should be lapping up on the shores of China round about now. :singing:

Schefter says Haley visiting Jets today.

godammit, jesters, don't make me have to change my screen name ... not to mention my dog's name!

Great point. And yet Jets' fans (and, apparently, players) are pining for Peyton Manning. I cannot imagine him coming to the Jets........

Re: Brian Schottenheimer has decided to part ways with the team

:D

Just thinking how funny it will be if the Jets do decide to have Sparano, and Haley as co-coordinators.

That dynamic is going to cause Jet fans migraines when they can't properly identify their scapegoat/whipping boy for the season.

All while conveniently ignoring the negative role of the:

GM - Horrible team building.

Head Coach- Horrible culture building, lack of accountablity, lack of overall consistency.

QB - Just plain horrible.

Nope. It's always the offensive coordinators fault.

Re: Brian Schottenheimer has decided to part ways with the team

Wait! This co-coordinater stuff isn't from "The Onion" is it?

It'd be like he never left the division. And then let's see how well he puts together the offense with new receivers...see if he's on TB's level.

Granted, he had some success with Garcon/Collie when Wayne/Clark were out.

Re: Brian Schottenheimer has decided to part ways with the team

No! Why couldn't they just keep Schotty.

Re: Brian Schottenheimer has decided to part ways with the team

All that remains in the cycle of cosmic events is for the Patriots to win the Superbowl. 2012 will be magnificent given the Jets implosion.
