This game is the one I've been waiting all summer for
It should be some kind of sick atmosphere next week at Gillette. I know it's not always a loud crowd there but it'll be loud and electric next week.
Bah. Just another game. Possibly has playoff hosting implications, so it's a bit more important than that. But not much.
But otherwise, it's just another regular season game against a playoff contending out-of-division team. Pats have a pretty good record in those in the last few years, particularly at home, but they drop a few here and there. Win would be nice, but it's a game the team can lose and it won't mean much at the end of the day. I think it's going to be close. The Chargers and their fans are going to view this as a mini-superbowl and play accordingly.
The reality is that it's a much less important game overall than today's game was. With only six division games now, they practically count double.
Two great statistics from the Chargers-Bears game.
LaDanian Tomlinson: 25 yards on 17 carries 1.5 ypc
Shawne (ShrunkBoy) Merriman: 3 tackles 0 sacks
If you watched the Bears game, you would have seen that this is not the same team we beat at home last year. Same players, but not the same team.
