I hear what you are saying Harry, but I have to be honest.... I hate
    cigarette smoke.

I wish they would create a law banning parents from smoking with children in the car.

How can they ban smoking outdoors and allow parents to smoke in a
car with the windows up, with young children in the car?

They have connected cigarette smoke to SIDS.

I am sure someone will pipe up, they cannot enforce the law?
Well we have a seatbelt law, don't we?

Treat it like the seatbelt law.... If you pull someone over and smell smoke
and their is a child in the car, you can fine the driver.....

    What is more important?
    * Giving a fine to a 35 year old guy driving alone without a seat belt
    or
    * Giving a fine to a smoking parent, who has a child in the car.

I would start the fine at $500.

So if I complain about stupid politicians
... can they ban that also if all it takes is one complaint then I am in. :D

Be interesting to see where the quiet enjoyment of one's home takes this one.

Smoking laws are stupid.. people should be allowed to smoke where they want to smoke, and then I make a choice of what I do and where I go.. just more shyt to enforce.

This country has too many laws and too many regulations..

Second hand smoke is harmful, so why should someone
Addiction be allowed to harm the innocent?

Studies say being exposed to second hand smoke
Could double the chances of SIDS in infants.

I hate the smoke also, we were sitting on a beach this past summer and some cigarette smoke blew our way I said to my wife 'I can't believe I used to love those damn things' I love the way they are clamping down on tobacco my point is now I wish they would do the same with some other things, if they went after the Pedophiles the way they go after the smokers the Moonbats would be throwing their blood all over City Hall blubbering about "civil liberties" and the constitution.
(i enjoy riling them up) I have 28 people in my family, only two of them smoke, I'm working on them.....

The Making Of Illegitimate Children not the children themselves, this country is sinking into a sh!t hole where there are thousands of children who have no idea who their father is.

We are DOOMED, the only thing that can save us is the Quran and it's believers, ISLAM, Mohammad will straighten things out over here, there is also another solution, send a Fact Finding Commision to Singapore and see how they do it.

We should also start stoning and lashing our politicians

You make a good point, but it was just kind of weird what you decided to include as reasons that America is deteriorating. The problem is that the solution to illegitimate children is not going to go over well with the right or the left so it will not happen.

More sex education and better access to birth control. And, sex education needs to include examples of what life will be like raising a baby solo. Also, I do think the government could afford to pay for birth control. It is a lot cheaper than the alternative lifetime programs.

The other step that needs to be taken is that there needs to be a way to curb the attractiveness of welfare. I know, people will jump in and say welfare is not something anyone strives for, but sadly it is a carrot for a lot of soon to be teenage mothers.

A young women in a bad situation sees her friend that has a baby and that friend gets section 8 housing, welfare, WIC, foodstamps... Scary as it is that is how it works a lot of times.

I have a choice of where I want to go, if a restaurant allows smoking I will not go to that restaurant...

I work where I want to work..

More laws seldom accomplish too much... common sense is usually better.

While Singapore is my favorite city I have ever been too, the way they do things would never work here. In fact one could argue Singapore is about as opposite America you can find.

Yes it a consumers dream, the shopping, restaurants and night life are second to none.

But the provisions guaranteed by our constitution fly basically in the face of the rights Singaporeans have.

Cane-ing is just the most famous example, which thanks to the stupid sh*t Michael Fay back in the 90s, made headlines here. However the bigger examples of lack of freedom of speech (except at predefined street corners at predefined times) and the levels the government can go to "protect the citizens" - in terms of snooping on citizens to protect the general populace would never fly here.

I mean we have people in this country who would argue the constitution protects them from mandatory DUI checkpoints - that those are invasions of privacy; yet in Singapore the only thing that is truly yours and private are the thoughts inside your brain.

Singapore is awesome. Its clean (almost sterile), the people are friendly and for small city-state the level of entertainment is fantastic, but you sound like a crazy person thinking we would, or should, ever adapt their style of government.
