Of course, we wish injuries on nobody around here (preemptive comment before the newest Jests troll screams "keep it up. Karma. Karma. Karma. Yada yada yada") but this is yet another bit of potentially bad news for the Jersey Jesters.

hope he's okay. We'll smoke 'em even with that big off-season pick-up.

He was back on a bike 20 minutes later. Sounds pretty minor. (Turns out this is false. He didn't get on the bike.)

Definitely not a Jets fan, but I'd hate it for them to lose games on account of Jones' health.

UPDATE: Local NYC news (ABC 7) just reported that Jet doctors have placed Jones's foot in a "soft cast" as a precaution.

And a jet fan who was there: I was at camp. Looked like a classic sprain to me. He was in pain, walking gingerly, and certainly was not near a stationary bike. He did work his shoulders on the arm bike thing and did do the medicine ball ab work with the other injured guys.

I doubt he'll play in the preseason again, but I also think it's the type of sprain that should be much better in 3 weeks. I'm pretty confident we'll see him week 1.

It's early in the preseason. Jones will be fine as long as the problem doesn't linger into the season.

I'm with you. Victory is so much sweeter when you can beat a team that's at full strength. You don't get the usuall whiney fans saying , "yeah but so and so was hurt!" Of course then it's the ref's fault.;)

I generally agree, and applauded the Jets move to grab Jones for a 2nd rounder, and think he'll bring a lot of excitment into the division... but injuries are part of the game

The Patriots have suffered plenty and still won, as the Patriots pride themselves on quality depth.

Mangini, in his offseason moves, sacrificed the need for improved depth to grab just a few starting caliber guys in free agency and the draft. If everyone stays healthy, it will be the right move, as I think he got some good players in the draft

But IMO the Jets still don't have the depth that a team needs to win even when injuries happen, as they almost always do.

So if they can't compete because of injuries, its because they made a strategic offseason decision that backfired.

    No, no NO!
The only leg injuries of concern are those to Pats wideouts, e.g. Moss' hammie.
I know because I read it on Jets Insider.

Yeah, but has he gotten them all into camp? :D

Doesn't appear to be a serious injury and he'll probably be OK. I'd rather beat the Jest at full strength anyway, it's more fun and they won't have excuses.

Well, they will make up excuses, but it won't be that one.

Sounds like a sprain to me...he should be fine.

I really hope he is. I think that move was an excellent one by the Jets. It may not be the best move of the off season as some will say, but it was a good deal for them.

I do not wish them on any team because I sure as hell hate when my team gets them and we certainly have had more than our share, nobody can deny that.

I want the Jests at full strength so they will have no excuses when we whoop their asses twice this year. Eric snuk up on BB once, it will be years before he does that again.

I like Jones, he is a classy player, and I always felt bad for him being drafted by the Cardinals (The NFL version of Hell). He looked like he was gonna be a bust early on, but has come on strong the last few seasons. Hopefully he's ok.

Ditto, I admire him as a player and hope he's there on opening day to make the Pats' D work - the harder they have to work during the regular season, the better they will be when it's 'one and done.'

I think the Jets could be tough this year. Anything that weakens them is fine by me.

How unfortunate. No Houston, no Barlow (not that he was any good), just Washington and...and... Well that's a shame.

    T. Jones is one tough bastard and an ankle sprain won't stop him. I've come to really admire the way he plays, and in many ways his style constitutes my ideal for a rb. He has alot of charisma, and will probably become de facto leader of the Jet offense before long; the O-line will block with greater intensity because they like him (an often undervalued factor in the quality of a team's O-line play). The first few years of his career were a wash so he has young legs, kind of like Priest Holmes in his late prime. I see him becoming a major contributor to the Jets; while I am hoping for the worst and fearing the best, my guess is a 10 win season for NY is a very strong possibility if Jones and Pennington remain upright.

Yeah - no kidding. Mangini seems like he's got a chip on his shoulder in showing some players who the "boss" is. That strikes me as being a little bit insecure.

But overall I do like the players he drafted and signed in FA - it's just that one easilly could have made the argument that it would have been just as wise for the Jets to trade back in the draft to pickup far more than the 4 guys (only 2 on Day 1) in the draft that they did.

Unless he loses a leg, I think he will be playing against us when the regular season starts. Bring it on GangGreen! I am looking forward to seeing by how many points we can beat them by. :D
