Jerry Rice comments?

I'd have liked to see what Jerry Rice could have done without great teams behind him.

But I never get what I want.
How well did Rice do in Seattle mmm?

I would have to see the whole article, but I do like the "tom Brady" response for QB's he would play with, I'll give him that, But Jerry should have stopped his career long before he eventually did, It's bad enough to see a player stretch it out longer than they could, but to see a great player try to do what his body just can't anymore is pathetic. I understand that the game itself means everything to a lot of these guys, but at what cost? Has anyone seen Earl Cambell lately, he can Hardly walk.

It's all just a bunch of speculation as to who would be better with what team, he should just get a car dealership and move on...

PD

Seattle doesn't count. Rice was third-down specialist at that point in his career.

@ ribanez: Rice was on some pretty good Oakland teams as well.

There is not a single player in the history of the NFL that couldn't thank at least a half dozen guys for their success.

Oddly enough, for all the accolaides thrown SF's offense's way, they consistently had better defenses that NE has had this decade. No one wants to bring this up, though.

and a better #2 WR, and a better Rb, ...

Anyone know where these comments came from? What a moron.

EDIT: They came from his new book. Which I now assume will be his last book.
I'd also like to see Peyton Manning on the Detroit Lions.

Im not sure if I missed this, but Jerry with the 49ers never had to worry about a salary cap either, I wonder how good the 9ers would have been in the 80s with a salary cap in place.

Jerry is the WORST sports broadcaster on Sirius Radio - Have you ever listened to him?

Count how many times he says 'UMM' or 'UH' in one hour! - and EVERY day he is on,its so annoying and he should go back to dancing on TV now.

Its said more on Sirius in his show than hearing the word 'F##K' in the movie Scarface!

How would brady do if he lost both starting receivers and had to use free agents?

12-4, 4 points from the SB.

Any other questions? Montana Craig Dwight Clark John Taylor

Rice has never been very bright. He also, believe it or not, whined about not getting the ball enough many times when with the 49ers. Of all the players on those great 49er teams, he was my least favorite. Montana, Lott, Craig, Taylor, Dean, Young, Clark, Solomon, Young, Jones, Barton, Sapolu, Hicks, all seemed like great guys. Rice? Just because you're the best pass catcher ever doesn't stop you from being a ****head.

Montana sucks. Once he left the great Ds and all star receivers of SF and went to Kansas city he was horrible.

Yes, I'm a moron, but who isn't these days?

Great Post!!:D

A friend IMs me to say that:

It's a fair enough question, not just for Brady but for any good QB. My guess is that if Tom Brady was on any team (except maybe the Colts) that had good coaching and management, that team would be better with him than without him.

That is like saying Id like to see Jerry Rice play on the New York Jets of the day what a jack***.
