Not da Bears but the Cubbies. 5 years, 10 mil.
At least this will put an end to all the "Ex-Charlie Weis player to play for Belichick" stories.
Now we can go after Brady Quinn!!!
Why not Darius Walker?
I need to start marking my posts with the [sarcasm] tag, I think.
Yes,we were speaking about this,here:

I think he might want to talk to Drew Henson.
Actually you were speaking about it but now that he's signed to pitch you can forget about anyone drafting him with other than a late day 2 pick. And he really sounds like even that would be a waste of a pick.
Stats aside, I wasn't nearly as impressed with Jeff this season as I was last season. I had the feeling this season he's a kid who has fun with football rather than a guy who is driven to improve, and to me it showed in his performances for much of this season.
Samardzija signs 5-year deal with Cubs
Well, at least we won't have to hear about how much we're going to draft him this April anymore.
Man, idiot. You'd think he'd learn from Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson.
The odds of making it after being drafted my MLB are so much lower than those of being drafted by the NFL.
Trading a sport (football) for a pastoral summertime recreational activity (baseball). What a waste of athletic talent.
On the plus side, unlike Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson, Samardzija's new job will not mess up his ability to perform his old job, like pitching mechanics tend to mess up a QB's thorwing mechanics.
He can always come back and get pounded if baseball doesn't work out. Usually you can tell whether or not you can do the offspeed pitches after two or three years.
Didn't he sign a 5 year, 10 million dollar contract...guaranteed money. That would be hard to turn down.
Why? Vinny just said he's good for another five years, at least (as long as he doesn't actually have to play).
[Edit: OOps, my bad. Totally OT.]
