Asked about rumors of him playing for the Patriots, free agent Jason Taylor said "I don’t know where it’s all coming from."

Patriots owner Bob Kraft indicated interest in Taylor last week. Taylor wouldn't rule out playing for the Pats, but said "it’s tough to play for one team (the Dolphins) for 11 years, and then go to play for your bitter rival."

..the pass rusher couldn't conceal his delight over reading comments that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft would love to add him.
"I did hear that. I can't lie," Taylor said Sunday night on the red carpet of an event for the Jason Taylor Foundation at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "I have not talked to Robert Kraft. We'll leave it at that. Those things will sort themselves out, and hopefully in the near future so I can get back to work."

That bothers me some what he said bitter rival. A hard core Dolphin fan I knew swore to me Taylor said something to the effect of out of respect he wouldn't ever be a Patriot. I doubt it's true, just makes me wonder though.

I think he would be a great addition to our OLB core, but I still feel that we need to draft an OLB rookie like Conner Barwin or Clay Mathews.

mates with brady and wes is with him at his charity event trying to twist his arm too

He wont give a monkeys about the fins .. he's just saying that to start the smoothing over process when this gets done ... he'll have to play down there remember so expect him to say how difficult it was .. blah, blah, blah'

The only thing that's left for Jason is what Jersey No. he wear as a Patriot and when he shows in Foxboro.

Bingo. It may be hard to think about playing for a team that's a rival, but not hard to do.

It will be even more interesting for him if/when he comes to play in New England and realizes that the Pats don't consider Miami a bitter rival. Their rivals aren't in the division. They are Indy, San Diego, Pitstown.

Are you sure? Sounded to me like he was trying to play one team off against the other to raise the price. Not so good.

What I found interesting was that he wanted to get back to work...so much for the offseason be with family and all. I had thought he would be signed..but late June early July...not now.

Yeah, but he basically admitted he just wanted out. I think the off-season thing was an easy exit.

Ya know, I'm just not buying any of it - I think it's done and to allow him to have his off season it won't be announced until after the draft.

Too many things point to the Patriots - The complete and total lack of info after his realease, if you remember 12 teams were interested the day after and then.........nothing.

He has not spoken much about anything and then when he has, he's been very careful - "I Have not spoken to Mr. Kraft" - Yea, we get it Jason.

Things can happen, deals can fall apart - But I think Jason wants to play with Tom (and Randy, Wes, Richard, Vince..etc) and they want to chase a ring.

I agree.

If the FINS want Taylor they got him. No matter what the PATs offer.

Here is one quote nobody is repeating:

"My main focus right now is spending time with the kids and the family, being back down here in Florida," Taylor said.

I really think Taylor holds being close to his Kids is a very high priority for him.
Even more so than a ring. Have you heard say anything about getting a
ring was very important?

My gut says if Fins make him a decent offer they got him.
Hope I'm wrong or Fins don't pursue him.

Im not so sure I put SD ahead of Miami in the rival list. Too many years of history between us and the Fish. SD is just a "Johnny come whining lately" in the grand scheme of things.

I liked reading the part about how Wes Welker was "nudging" him.:gossip:
