Understood but who knows if there's really a bogus year at the end. Why would they even have a fake 6th year if they can't prorate the bonus over that year ?DaBruinz said:BBFan -
That is assuming that the salary is paid evenly. My best is that, since the SB can only be pro-rated over 5 years, that most of the salary is in that 6th year. A year that he will never see.

Right but it's worthless to the player if he knows he won't get it. Anyway, I hope this guy helps them against the Colts.DaBruinz said:Because you can backload it with salary and it would be no risk of any dead money. It inflates the contract for posterity.
