this is a stupid thread. I don't give a rats behind what you like or don't like. Everyone is sorry for not spelling his name right. Please forgive them.

Handelian FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions)

* What is the correct spelling of his name?

The multiple spellings represents Handel's cosmopolitan stature in 18th century Europe.

* In German speaking countries: Georg Friederich Händel
* In Italy: Giorgio Federico Hendel
* In France: Haendel
* In English speaking countries (England, his adopted homeland): George Frideric Handel

(Note: During Handel's lifetime, his name was mistakenly written as: Handle, Handell, Hendell, Hendler, Händeler, etc.)

Of interest, he was christened Georg Friederich Händel; however, he first signed his name Georg Friedrich.

Well I hope we've cleared that up.:D

I just can't seem to get a HANDUL on this thread. Let's all leave Lawrence Mahooney alone. He's Laurence "of Arunningback" Maroney (for those David Lean fans and people over 40).

I think it's Keegs who keeps calling him "Mahoney."

And also, it's KACZUR not "Kaycur" or "Kascar" or "Kaszur" or anything else.

And it's MCGINEST, not "McGuinnes" or "McGinnest"

LOMO!!!!

(his nickname in college)
Not according to Mr. Maroney it wasn't. Perhaps that's what the mouth-breathing phonnetical-misspellers called him. :) (I mean his name's not pronounced LOWrance MOEroney, is it?) Pffft... l337 Internet d00ds that can't be bothered to spell his name or use his preferred (acording to him) nickname.... this disrespect shall not stand.

Go LaMa!

I was just gonna dop that one.

The Angel Moroni on the Birmingham Alabama Temple. Moroni, a Book of Mormon prophet, returned to earth as a resurrected being and prepared Joseph Smith to receive and translate the gold plates. A symbol of the restoration of the gospel through divine messengers, such statues stand on the top of many LDS temples

...and it was revealed to me that when the Philistines were to return to the Israelites, they were required to pay tribute as well, in form of five golden mice, and five golden tumors. And so in th latter days, when the Angel Moroni translated the golden plates, it was revealed that he would come again, in the form of a Golden Gopher...

So let it be written, so let it be done!
