I always look forward to her stuff... so I'm just wondering, is she doing shows for the minicamp this weekend so I can get some scoop on who's looking good out there?

Somehow I don't think even Mrs B is allowed in the mini camps. She usually starts reporting at regular training camps, much as I'm sure we'd all like it otherwise!!!!

Mini-camps are open to the media only.

While I would LOVE to be able to report and give you guys all the scoop, alas, the doors are closed to all but the media! I'll be back at training camp at the end of July with my recorder and will have daily Podcasts and Training Camp Reports though :)

umm... who is more media, Mrs B, or Borges?

NOt sure if it's open to the general media but I know that PFW etc. will be reporting from camp.

Hey, weren't you doing Podcasts and stuff from Training Camp?
That should make YOU part of the Media too shouldn't it?
You should go down there righteously indignant and demand to get in!!

 :D

MINI-CAMP PLAN: The media’s coverage of this weekend’s rookie mini-camp begins Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET when Bill Belichick is scheduled to hold a press conference. Player interviews will follow from noon-12:45 p.m. ET, and then the media will watch practice from 3-4:15 p.m. ET. We will plan on updating here multiple times over the course of the day, as well as Sunday.
Ah, nice. I am sure I read the opposite about practice but I'm glad to be wrong.

I'm with edzo. Make a big deal of how you are to the sports media as those bloggers at the conventions are to the real media - you know, the most responsible of the "fan media."

Or just beat the crap out of Borges and steal his pass.

Hey Karen, is that you in the draft party video on patriots.com?

I didn't go to the Pats Draft Party so nope it's not me .. unless it's a clip of old footage from some other time and place.. (I'll have to go check it out.)

As for the camp/media thing, here's the situation: While I do feel that Podcasts ARE legitimate modes of Media and even many local sports journalists have all told me that they DO read my Training Camp Reports, I am very reluctant to approach the Pats about crossing that line. It's funny because I literally sit right beside the media tent and the only thing separating us is a yellow rope. They are handed rosters, stats sheets and press conference transcripts while everything I get is from my observation...

But here's my reasoning: I consider myself a FAN first and foremost and while what I do does take lots of time, it's a labor of love for me... I never want that to change and have it turn into an obligation in any way. I also don't profess to know it all and I'm still learning every day, and I have no "expert" analysis to offer. Thus, I can say what I want and since it is purely my opinion I feel comfortable enough putting it out there without feeling that it's under a microscope and will be picked apart.

Another reason for my reluctance is because over the years, I've gotten to know some players and more specifically many family members. I never want them to ever, ever feel that I'm interacting with them as the "media" and that I'll be looking for a story of some kind...

So, while it would be great to get access to the field after practice to get a soundbite or two for my podcast, I'm pretty content sitting on my beach towel and taking it all in proudly wearing my 54 jersey. (Media aren't there as fans... business casual is the way for them.) I think it would kill me to not be able to clap and cheer for my boys and act like the Fan of the Year that I am.

Go Pats!!

Dang... reading today's articles really makes me itch to get out there!! :) How many days till Training Camp?

Can't wait til you get out there and give us all the scoop. It's been too long without some sort of Patriot material to foam at the mouth about.

I've never met you in person but I've seen your photo on your web site. There is a woman being interviewed in the video that I thought might be you, but I guess it wasn't!

I've nothing else to say now except to thank you once again for the great reports you've been delivering reliably and diligantly for several years now. I know it must take a lot of work and there must be some days you just don't feel like doing them but you do anyway, just because you know how much everyone hear looks forward to reading them. We really do appreciate it.

Thanks for the kind words... and yes, sometimes I'd love to just come home from camp and jump in the pool and relax but I spend a few more hours at the computer but it's all worth it to me.

I watched that Patriots Today and I know who your are referring to... the lady with the jersey... nope, not me but I can understand how you may have thought it was me.

Go Pats!!
