I am really disturbed that the wonder boy WR hasn't got a nub NFL contact
without ending up being absent.
I was sure impressed with his ability to catch in those advertising flicks.
But is this another Bethel in progress? Great Potential unrealized?
Very disturbing ... the kid is now a week and 12 some odd practices behind.
So is this an Omen of things to come with Chad Jackson?

Where's that "relax and chill" emoticon when you need it ?

No. A WR out for a week with a hamsting does not make his **** or a wimp. Or soft.

We're the Patriots.
We've got TEs and RBs who catch the ball.
We don't need no stinkin wide receivers!

And you are saying all this in the first week of August because?

Of course not. We have Bam Childress and John Stone to

take his place. In fact, we don't even need Deon.

Right on! I'm with you. Those WR's are just a pain in the @&%. Always getting hurt. Always wanting MO' MONeY (as in SHOW ME.....). Always wanting the ball (thrown) to them. Media interview sessions on their front lawn. SHEEES.

We have 4 TE's. Why don't we just have 4 TE sets instead. That would FREAK OUT the opposing defense!

Because? .... because he is 12 practices behind ..... because he was suppose to
be the great WR addition ..... because he hasn't shown anything when the
pads are on .... because I'm diappointed that PATs WR core won't
be what it could have been if he was able to stay healthy ....... because
Belichick even says without a good TC those guys are struggling to catch up
..... because I just hope this is not another guy who is great if you can
keep him on the field ......

True enough, BF.

I recall a certain hardassed former coach responding to a reporter's question about another rookie WR's training camp hammy injury with, "she's doing fine". "She" went on to have 90 catches for over 1100 yards, an NFL record for rookies.

Despite said coach's characterization, said rookie WR had an excellent rookie campaign, (future head-case issues notwithstanding).

It was said he was out for precautions not his personal decision...his agent and obviously the coaching staff agreed to put him on PUP for a few days.

I was going home tonight and have a nice meal, then take the dogs for a nice long walk, and then relax for the rest of the evening.

But now, I'm now going home and pull the blankets over my head because-

We're Doomed!!!!!!!:scared:

I was being sarcastic as shown by the  (roll eyes). You will find I am very sarcastic on this forum. Especially as one cannot do completely without WR's. But I though his quote 'we don't need no STINKIN receivers' was quite funny so I had to reply to that.

Still there is an element of truth about what I said as the Pats could realistically have 4 TE's on the 53 man roster this year (Graham, Watson, Thomas and G. Mills for those of you scoring at home). I know Mills -if he makes the 53 man roster- would be as a FB. But if our WR core this year isn't up to the task - I am sure BB and McDaniels will think of some interesting ways to distribute the ball more to the RB's, TE's and FB's. They could do some very interesting things in formations with the TE's and using Mills a 'la Chris 'Cooties' for the Redskins. Just have to keep them all healthy this year. (Yah I'm looking at YOU, D. Graham).

over reacting a bit? Jackson won't make or break the PATs but that was
not the concern if you re-read my intial post.

It's Jackson ... I know it's early to say how he will
turn out. maybe he will never get injured again ..... great. But to me this
is not how I would like to see a star WR start his career. Perhaps you are
ok with it but for me .... it leaves me a bit concerned.

To be concerned about 12 missed practices to start a career is just silly to me. Be concerned on that front if he comes out in an actual GAME and blows an ACL or something. Then the 'injury concern' is legit.

But as far as worrying that he's another BETHEL?? Just silly. I understand that your concern is more that Bethel was oft-injured, but really, it's a tweaked hamstring, not a series of invasive surgeries.

And besides, the reason Bethel didn't work out was his attitude, mental aptitude, and work ethic, not because of his injuries.

Let Chad play a game, at least a preseason one(!), before you worry so much about his career path. He's not Bethel, and one hammy tweak shouldn't be enough to make anyone worry about him being an injury prone player.

If it makes you feel better, pretend that he's holding out. But really, 12 practices. One week into TC and still a week away from first preseason game. He will be just fine.

Must be the heat :D

It's a shame, that's it. He'll catch up. Training Camp is a lot more than the on field stuff anyway, he's still getting all the meetings and film study. Branch, Caldwell, Brown, Jackson will be 1-4 heading into the season.

Don't forget Rich Musinski.
