    I agree with you, NEM.

As long as it is other people's children dying in Iraq, I don't think George Bush cares.

As his spokesman Tony Snow said, the military deaths is "just a number", and the Iraq war is "just a comma" in history.

"cut and run" is a mantle worn only by
democrat politicians. It's been true for 40 years and no one in the current crop of leftist candidates speaks any differently.

It's in their DNA.....they'll never protect us.

Remember last week when everyone got their panties in a bunch about the report by Baker and his crew, the Iraq Study Group, well folks more and more info on it and it looks like this may be the alternative for GWB.

You should honestly look at the individuals who are calling for the withdrawal of troops in Iraq. When you see names like Pat Buchanon it just makes your "leftist candidates" proclamation seem a little hollow.

This is the banner on CNN @ 1034am PST oct 20, 2006

    Breaking News:

President Bush and his top military commanders will hold previously unscheduled talks this weekend on Iraq, where violence is escalating.

WTF! how is this not scheduled every morning? how is this not agenda item #1....why are people who post on a PATRIOTS message board more concerned and aware than the administration seems to be?

and why THIS WEEKEND? why not now?

Bush talks with the Natl Security team every day and the JCOS , he doesn't talk to commanders on the scene every day they have a job to do.

Ever been in the military? Do you know how the Chain of command works?

I've never been in the military.

Bush hasn't (I know about his guard service, but...he hasn't seen combat)
    Rummy hasn't
    Cheney hasn't

The point I was getting at was the timing of this meeting coordinatted with a new strike force entering the gulf....why this weekend, why now?

IMO ( Iwasn't consulted) due to the increase in violence around Ramadan. Part of this is Sadr and his Iranian sponsors, perhaps they watch CNN and would like to help the dems do well in the election so they are ratcheting up the violence.

So now if you havent seen combat then your military service doesnt count? So what is my brother doing over in Kuwait if he's not serving in the military?

Oh and no admonition from moderators about yet ANOTHER personal attack STARTED by NEM? He claims that he is simply responding to an attack when he spews his venom but clearly in this case, its simply a differing opinion that brought this one.

    When will something be done?

I never meant to offend anyone sacraficing their body to defend the costitution....and I never will. Not what I meant at all.....I have noting but respect for our men and women fighting and in service overseas.

as far as Bush's National Guard duty....the national guard back then was domestic military / part time force. Now its a backdoor draft, many guardsman have been called back for multiple tours and extended stays. None of those guys signed up to go to Afghanistan, Iraq, or Kuwait. I was launching a preemptive rebuttle for saying that BUSH's service is questionable at best.

I was wondering why the 3 men in charge of this war are meeting NOW....and talking to generals and leaders on the ground NOW?

I may not know the ins and outs of the chain of military command....However I do know who the 'decider' is ....

I was in the military during that time USAF, had orders to Pleiku cancelled during late 72 due to base closing, nevenr went to Nam, however had a lot of friends go and know piltos who went. In thiose days many ANG pilots saw combat. The idea that you bacame and NAG pilot is very uninformed and usually spouted by those who didn't serve.

The AF was volunteer, not many dems there. those that came in as libs mostly grew up and became Reagan voters. ;)

I also wanted to specify that I didn't go to Nam myself. I don't want to mis lead people unlike someon this board (I don't mena you here).

I mentioned this in your other thread
(oct 21,2006),holy diver,I thought I might bring it up again.

CNN reported last nite that the US is tracking a N.Korean ship suspected of carrying "contraband".
Don't say where it's headed or with what.

Also,in recent days the Isreali Gov't(Olmert) has been ratcheting up the rhetoric regarding a possible strike on Iran's Nuclear facilities.

Juat a guess, but could we be putting ships and aircraft in place to either BLOCK or FACILITATE Isreal's military?
