The health minister blamed the Sunni's and Whabbi's not the Americans. OF course he is a Shia and a member of a group with ties to Iran, I'm sure he would have no reason to inflate the number of deaths' ;)

Of course he has the good sense that liberals do not to blame the deaths of innocents on the murderers rather than the person who liberated these folks rom Saddam.

Another notable part of the article is the reaction of the Iraqi factions to the election in this country. They are now acting out of fear that the US is going to cut and run.

Did Clinton have to answer for the 1/2 million women and children killed during the no-fly zone war Mikey?

Have you ever called out Clinton and Albright for the deaths of those civilians Mikey?

I didn't think so....which means your question is 100% political and 0% compassionate to the civilians of Iraq.

So I guess the left expects that during a time of war NO civilians are to be harmed in any way?

Are you ready to go digging up FDR's rotted corpse and defile it because MILLIONS of civilians were killed during WWII?

What could be more vile than a comparison between the rotten skin-bag that is Bush and the Greatest President of the 20th century? Not to mention TWOT and WWII? Are you serious?

Amazing how the righties are defending the deaths of 150,000 civilians. How cold! No wonder they lost so big in the election. And, F.B.N., do you have a link to support your contention that 500,000 died in the no-fly zone? I have not seen a number like that. Lastly, it's worth pointing out that the deaths in Iraq are a direct result of the war we launched. Perhaps if Bush had listened to the experts and provided more troops, fewer civilians would have died.

You want insight into why the Republicans got a giant electoral boot in the ass on Tuesday, there it is right there.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this remark was made tongue in cheek, but even if it was, it's pretty despicable.

What is despocable is blaming the US for deaths caused by our enemies. The Person quoted in the article attributes the deaths to the insurgants and militias, not the US.

I love the way the lefties throw our troops under the bus as people who intentionally kill civilians.

Whats The Plan Auntie Pelosi, Whats The Plan Murtha, When Are The Troops Coming Home-How Many More Will Die-Bring Them Home Now You Grinning Phony Bastards.

The hell with Iraq and the hell with Israel, bring our people home, leave them to treat their women like donkeys, leave them to behead each other, leave them to pray to Allah for the Death Of America, let them gas and slaughter their little children, "kill kill kill" thats all the savages know, they have been killing each other for a million years, F-ck the animals in the middle east, warn them well though, if they attack us again that the middle east and all their "Killing Religion Mosques" will be nuked from the face of the earth.

If the US didn't attack Iraq (or did so with more troops) there would have been fewer deaths. At any rate, the US started the war on Iraq so must bear responsibility. It's the grownup thing to do.

That kind of rhetoric is pointless for at least another two years.

I don't recall allocating any blame; the situation is far too complex for that and I'm not throwing anyone under a bus; except perhaps somebody who believes that the deaths of 300,000 people is something to be taken lightly.

    1) Most estimates place the total # of deaths at ~ 45-50k (all regretable), given the routinue butchery employed by Saddam they is no evidence to support your assertation.

I didn't specify any individual in my post, there are many who 'blame' Bush and America for any deaths in this wat, there are also many who believe any accusations leveled at our troops at face value.

I was addressing the general proposition presemted in this thread. I was not attributing these attitudes to you.

Oh, now it's 150,000? I thought it was 600,000 a few weeks ago...

If we are going to hang Saddam for the death of 150 Iraqis, what should we do to George Bush for the death of 150,000 women and children??
