In the course of discussing AGW since Climategate and the Copenhagen summit. SOme here have said the emails don't mean anything. These emails written in 10/9 don't support that POV.

First on the writer from Wiki:

" Kevin E. Trenberth is head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He was a lead author of the 2001 and 2007 IPCC Scientific Assessment of Climate Change (see IPCC Fourth Assessment Report) and serves on the Scientific Steering Group for the Climate Variability and Predictability (CLIVAR) program. In addition, he serves on the Joint Scientific Committee of the World Climate Research Programme, and has made significant contributions to research into El Niño-Southern Oscillation."

He is exchanging emails with MAnn and the CRU crew on how to spin the missing GW:

first the email that triggered Trenberth's emails

So the author the reality of no warming the past 10 years.

    Trenbeth's emails:

Big point of dispute between the AGW alarmist and the Climate realist the role of the PDO (Pacific Decadel Oscillation). Which tracks temp changes and doesn't have anything to do with CO2.

He admits they don't know and can't account for observation. In rel science observation (reality) trumps model, If observation contradicts the model then the model is by definition wrong and at least some of the assumptions underlying the model are wrong.

From Kevin to Mann (Mr Hockey Stick

This is settled science? Not based on these emails from the lead author of the IPCC report.....;) Wow more on the IPCC models and where they expected to see heat buildup that is missing OOPS. The BS continues because the governments/bureaucrats are looking for the $$$ tax revenue and the Finance guys are looking at $$$$ trading carbon credits.

Not to mention continued hundred of millions in research $$$

Do not want to nit pik.. but need to remind a mod of the rules.. in your haste for hysteria, no need to abandon the rules...

Or is this one of those arguments that because Palin is called stupid it is ok to call Pelosi a b!tch.. and other names, that will not be mentioned.

No problem. This is not copyrighted material it is an OPEN letter that is meant to be reproduced otherwise I would have limited to quote to 4 sentences to avoid any copyright infringement, as I would with copyrighted material.

Thanks for raising the subject to ensure the rules are being followed.

He wasn't paying attention to that........ Falling back an a familiar forum tactic. WHEN LOSING ARGUMENT, REFERENCE THE RULE BOOK. Of course referencing a grammatical error is acceptable too :singing:

Say what you will, but a rule is a rule... unless you are a rightie or a mod..

For the most part do not give a crap about the 20 or so posts on MMGW or Copenhagen... just reminding him of the rule..

Without regard for his justification, still should have captioned the source..

    Think it was from...

In that case, isn't there some rule which says you're not supposed to start new threads when there is already a thread with roughly the same topic still open and available?

Because, honestly, there are 6 other threads on this same topic on the first page here - any one of them would have been an acceptable place to post this latest bit of super-duper-extra-special-hot-off-the-press-information.

If there is such a rule, could we all please just follow it???

If there's not such a rule, could we please make one?

I believe there is such a rule, called him on this earlier in the week and he said he did not have to follow the rules or some other such nonsense...

Here is the generic rule from the main board..somehow things are different here.. posted by Ian..

Somehow there are always exceptions for the right... what comes to mind a rightie who used an extremely offensive word the other day, and just kept on posting... one would have to guess either it was not addressed or that type of language is sanctioned by the mods..

Hmmmm, I see a lot of "attack the poster" comments so that tells me SOME people are having a difficult time accepting the posters comments.

I'm looking forward to some actual REBUTTLES!:D

Increases in CO2 and the greenhouse effect are irrefutable. Man's contribution to the increase in CO2 is also irrefutable. Now, the precise behavior of the climate under climate change is not settled science, and climate is still not perfectly understood. But nice try on re-hashing the same old misinterpretations and misunderstanding of how science works. Remember: gravity is a universal law but nobody really knows how it works. Does that mean gravity doesn't exist? Because that is the crux of the denialists' arguments and it's absurd.

The existence of CO2 setting up a positive feedback loop is far from settled sorry apple. As to the himan contribution since CO2 is ~3.5% of the greenhouse effect and Humans contribute ~3% of CO2 (the rest from natural sources) the human contributions is ~.001 ie negliable.

It is difficult to rebut if you do not know the source as defined by the rules.. and there are already 6 active threads on the same subject, so there is plenty of rebuttal and plenty of narcissism already evidenced... talk about beating a dead horse..

No one "Attacked" the poster - they complained about the repeated posting of the same materials.

You want to see "REBUTTLES" (whatever they are - I am assuming you meant rebuttals) see:

Stephen Hawking, and many othe palnetary scientists agree that we can "Terraform" Mars into a planety that will warm, release polar ice and create a breathable atmosphere. By using what are knowns as "super Greenhouse gasses" we could theoretically create an atmosphere in 40 years....

Come on!!! Everyone says crazy stuff in their emails. These guys were just joking and fooling with each other. These emails mean nothing. On the other hand can you imagine if you were at the top of your field and now you have somehow figure out how to wipe all that egg off of your face. All the data you concocted keeps coming up looking like sh!t.
