The Boston Herald backs NBCSPorts.com's Tom Curran report that Tom Brady's spreading infection originated from an unexpected procedure on Brady's not-yet-healed MCL.
While Dr. Neal ElAttrache was performing the ACL surgery, he discovered that the knee was still unstable because the MCL hadn't fully healed after only four weeks. ElAttrache decided to also repair the MCL, and that's the incision that became infected. Brady's knee has been flushed three times, and he's on heavy antibiotics to stave off the infection. The Boston Herald quoted a local specialist who believes it's likely that the infection will be eradicated and a second ACL surgery will not be necessary.
Lets hope he doesnt need that 2nd operation on the ACL.
