My wife made me canvas for Obama; here's what I learned | csmonitor.com

Let me make it clear: I'm pretty conservative. I grew up in the suburbs. I voted for George H.W. Bush twice, and his son once. I was disappointed when Bill Clinton won, and disappointed he couldn't run again.

I encouraged my son to join the military. I was proud of him in Afghanistan, and happy when he came home, and angry when he was recalled because of the invasion of Iraq. I'm white, 55, I live in the South and I'm definitely going to get a bigger tax bill if Obama wins.

I am the dreaded swing voter.

I too appreciate you sharing that article Patters...thanks! Pretty cool how it came from the Christian Science Monitor. I would have thought that was a conservative publication...am I wrong?

I like how the author talked about how he found out the election is actually about "the little things". Damn those little things! Doesn't life always seem to get back to them? Funny how it works like that;)

what? that smart people at the nation's BEST universities support the pluralist candidate, not the warhawk candidate? almost a big a "surprise" as dumb evangelicals who've never left their town blindly supporting McCain.

"Pluralistic"???? The only known contacts we have for Barack Obama is: William Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn, Saul Alinsky, "Uncle" Jeremiah Wright, and the Chicago Democrat machine. That's it. He won't allow anybody to see his Occidental, Columbia, or Harvard records. He won't allow anyone to interview his grandmother, his aunt, his uncle, and now, not even his half-brother. Obama has sealed himself off from any and all scrutiny. And you want to call him "pluralistic"???? He's about as "pluralistic" as Ho Chi Mihn or Mao or Kim Ilsung, from what we've been able to glean, which ain't much.

When that guy gets to the voting booth I have no doubt he's voting McCain. He just will never admit it to his wife if he ever wants to have sex again :)

Sorry guys, I just call them like I see them.
