The New England Patriots offensive line has become the walking wounded.

This too me is the biggest worry so far.
If you keep having injury reports with guys that have the "OL" designation after their name on it , How long before somebody with a "QB" designation after their name shows up here ?

In Dante we trust but .....

I think I've come to a point, where I've realized that Vollmer will never be a productive member of the Pat's offensive line. We are now in year two of post back surgery, and this guy can't be counted on to be the Vollmer of old. Really is a shame, but I can't see him ever being a reliable option at Right Tackle. I'm not a doom and gloomer, just don't expect to see him on the field.

Same goes for Vereen. If you're always on the sideline injured, you can't get playing time, even when you get healthy. He reminds me of J.R. Whatshisname from the early 2000's with the Pats, excellent RB in college, highly productive, but couldn't stay on the field except the SB year 2001.

You realize that he's been starting and taking half the snaps at RT for the past two weeks, right? How is that not "productive"? If anything, it seems like they're still easing him back, and maybe also making sure that Cannon gets his reps in case Vollmer goes down again.

Even if he never goes back to being the anchor that we want him to be at RT, Vollmer is still a contributing member of the offensive line.

A busy man with limited opportunities via double/bracketed coverage too.

You don't have to be a defensive genius to realize that they'll take their chances with Llyod one on one, and likely use Reed on Gronk's side. That leaves the prospect of either the other TE (who may be in to block a lot), or Branch/Edelman who isn't going to keep anyone too worried.

We will need to dig deep into the creativity bag for this one.

Hopefully we see some misdirection plays to catch the defense out of step, some good blocking in front of some screens to help offset the passrush, and some churning runs from Ridley mixed in throughout a key pass or two per quarter via 3rd down, or this one may be a lost cause.

Good execution and a good gameplan can go a long way towards keeping it close though, and if the defense can keep playing stout and even cause a turnover at some point, the odds instantly swing back into our favor.

Obviously the offensive line, the secondary, and the 'other' receiving threats not named Welker or Gronkowski will be big factors come Sunday.

If we can get a little production from Gronk/Welker along with some key catches by Lloyd, and/or Branch/Edelman a few times, we have a shot no matter what.

We have a much better shot if the offensive line plays well, and if that happens AND the defense plays well, we will win this game just fine.

    As the 15th roster TE?

Or as one of the offensive line bullies?

I'm sure he could also play some good secondary coverage too ;)

Ravens not so good at pass rush? Might be a bigger concern for running game. With Deaderick and Francis not at practice today, Pats also thin at DT. Maybe Forston dresses?

Branch is better; at least he can get open. I have seen no evidence that Lloyd can. Here the Patriots are again with no dominating WR after Felger and the other jackals in the press drove Moss out of town  and it is not like the Patriots can draft a WR...

Vollmer's playing and doing fine. He has a back issue and the Patriots are being cautious with him. I would hope they're limiting his practice reps and working on core strength to keep him in there.

Connolly is the guy to be most concerned about. He has a concussion and there is nothing you can do to compensate for that in the weight room - you have to ride it out and hope medications and time make it safe to return. With Connolly, the line is solid.
