Too lazy to search all through everything to see if this has been posted before. "Politician" should not be a career choice for anyone. Seems to be a spirit of stupidity that afflicts everyone that spends more than one term in an elected office.

You can check this out on Snopes.com under "The Story of Two Houses", or just click http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp

House #1 A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South.

House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F. ) heats the house in the winter and cools it i n the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the residence of the "environmentalist" Al Gore.

HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas; it is the residence of the United States President George W. Bush.

Oh yes, this has been discussed before, but I haven't seen that neat little comparison you posted. Nonetheless, it doesn't negate Gore' argument that we need to address global warming. It simply shows the man who favors protecting polluters lives cleaner than the man who favors restricting polluters. FYI, since these reports, Gore has greenified his house.

Wouldn't it be wonderful, if the owner of house number 2 was as conscientious concerning the rest of the country as he is in his own house. Wouldn't it be grand, if instead of bowing to the oil industry, he rose to the occasion and sanctioned alternative energy. Hey, it beats going to war. War versus alternative energy was his choice. House member 2 decided to go to war, brilliant. Please come back and tell us about his enviromental policies while your at it.

What's your point ? Bush doesn't go around blabbering about impending doom all the time like the other guy does.

Edit : I didn't read well enough to realize Bush's house is green. Regardless, he's not telling me how I should live, like Gore is, so I don't care how much or little Bush pollutes the air.

Bush only built his self-sustaining home because he knows about Peak Oil, and is preparing for life when our entire way of life is changed dramatically for the worse. This information doesn't lessen Gore's message.

After the "Loons" whine and complain about the Devil's Liquid (Oil) they "fill er up" then go home and turn the thermostat up and watch Bill Maher.

Do other country's burn oil or is it just the Bush America that is bringing about the End Of Civilization.

The best way to get rid of Global Warming in the news is to elect a Democrat in 2008, do this and
Global Warming will vanish the next day, you won't hear about it again unless the name Bush is brought up or until another Republican becomes President.

Boob Gore, if you read this I would suggest you take a trip to Africa and tell the "Tribes" to stop throwing their Senior Citizens dead body's in the river and try to stop their people from sh!tting in the back yard, then go down and visit the "Liberals Hero" Castro and tell him to make his people ride bikes because the exhaust from the 55 Chevy's is drifting over the Bush America also ask him if his people will stop breaking wind and killing chickens in their bedrooms, please Mr President Boob Gore.

    ATTN LIBERALS:
Destory your furnace tell your Oil Man to go f-ck himself, God bless you.
