In one more example of gov't agencies wanting to bail out super, mega wealthy business entities by using taxpayer's money...they are asking for more public funds to bail out banking institutions.

IMF Sees Banks Deleveraging by $2.6 Trillion

"The warning comes a day after Olivier Blanchard, the fund’s chief economist, called for taxpayer-funded bank recapitalisations to be put back on the policy agenda to counter the risk of a painful deleveraging."

The "warning" the article refers to is further contraction of available credit to buinesses and consumers...and thus a negative impact on the world's economy.

"Ho-hum" is what I say. What they are really asking for is trillions of taxpayer dollars to bail out financial institutions which mainly benefit the uber-wealthy.

I dont know what other members here think, but I'm not gonna blink at this bullsh1t warning.

So after bailing out banks and auto companies in the US...and bail out after bail out in Europe, the average citizen has been left worse off than before. Our homes are worth less, our pay is not keeping pace with inflation and our futures are still in doubt.

Nah, I'm not for any more private corp. bailouts....or public bailouts for that matter. If a company or a town/city is bankrupt, face the music like everyone else does. Learn how to manage your affairs within the constraints of what you have.

Whether or not Europe affects our economy or not, I will never support US tax dollars going to help bail out European banks....but despite my protests, my tax dollars have already been sent to Euro-banks.

But enough is enough....let the weak banks fail no matter how big they are.

Just ask yourself if multiple bailouts of Greece has helped them....

    Update: Sunday April 22, 2012...Location; Northeast U.S> 6:29pm

Thus far, the United States is refusing to contribute taxpayer dollars to help the EU save themselves!! That is great news for Americans!

The news person said Obama won't approve it because if he did, it would have to go through congress and it would never pass there.

Let's hope we stick to our guns....

Yeah PR, I agree that Europe doesn't deserve US tax dollars to bail them out. Besides, think of how hypocritical it would be to give them our tax dollars when we'll prolly have to implement some austerity measures ourselves very soon.

    I'm wit ya bud....:D

Why the fact the IMF is asking us for $$ to bail out Greece/EU doesn't piss off other members is beyone me.

Maybe some of you want to help them?
