Yeah, I saw that............... One of my chief worries about Obama (believe it of not) was that he comes from the Chicago Political Machine. What a cesspool.

Not claiming that he would be dirty, but no doubt that is an UGLY system there.

What a coincidence that I just posted a thread that talked about how he is threatening the Bank of America for pulling financing on a failing Illinois company:

"Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s threat to halt the state’s dealings with Bank of America Corp. over a shut-down factory in Chicago extends a “dangerous” trend of politicians meddling with commerce, a former general counsel of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said.

Blagojevich, a Democrat, yesterday said the biggest U.S. retail bank won’t get any more state business unless it restores credit to Republic Windows & Doors, whose workers are staging a sit-in. John Douglas, an attorney with Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker in Atlanta, said Blagojevich and Senator."

What a frikkn' hypocrate. The guy acts like he's doing the honorable thing while he steals money from his own citizens.

To be fair Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the country under Mayer Daley.
This guy will never lose an election, though.

I think everybody saw it coming, only what would they get him on. Kind of surprising that it was for the Senate seat, since they have been after this guy for quite a while. Happened after the papers went to press. The front page news was the Tribune filing for bankruptcy.
Look for Fitzgerald to be in the news again, big time.

If it was Sarah Palin you'd be hearing about it.

You're right in a way though she's a bigger name. Check out all the headlines though, no mention of party.

For sure......... It's a great place. Been there many times. I'm talking about the political machine. It's been fukced since the 20s-30s, and not likely to change anytime soon.

May have misspoke about the newspaper headline. Just watched CNBC and they were saying that the Gov. was strong arming the newspaper and was wanting to have some of the newspaper editorial people fired and that he would cause problems for them with the sale of the Cubs (which is owned by the Trib.).

What are you talking about? We are talking politics in Illinois where everyone is dirty. With the current gov in jail, this makes it 4 out of 8 Illinois gov's who have been jailed.

The current Governor and the one he replaced, Dumbasses.
Blagojevich took the chief executive's office in 2003 as a reformer promising to clean up Ryan's mess.

Ryan, a Republican, is serving a 6-year prison sentence after being convicted on racketeering and fraud charges. A decade-long investigation began with the sale of driver's licenses for bribes and led to the conviction of dozens of people who worked for Ryan when he was secretary of state and governor.

My point is that because of corruption, Daley is able to be a very strong Mayor and he is able to do most anything he wants without fair of legal repercussion...I think.
Fortunately for Chicago he keeps it looking nice without having to appease all the legalities.
It's just what I sense so don't ask me to be specific.

But Palin is the white Whoppie Goldberg...without the disgusting hair, the ugly face, the left leaning political views, the overated comedy, the movies and talk shows, and with a career, albeit short one, in politics.

It don't matter here, Harry Boy. The Guy before him (Gov. Ryan) is also in jail for corruption and he is Republican.
Though, from what I hear it's not the kind of jail you or I would be sent to.
