So basically, according to Patters, it all comes down to you being either coke or pepsi. No thanks.

In the past you chose conservative, RW. What's changed? Moving to the left a little?

Cannot vote on something that is black and white, because it isn't. Would not join either "team"....

Have to question why this thread even exists..

As I said in my initial post, "I think it gives a good sense as to what the current political balance in the forum is."

My sense is that the board is currently more left than right than when the same question was asked before.

This is a false dichotomy. Labeling people in simplistic choices is bad, Patters. I thought you understood that.

My reason for voting Conservative are in the links, I was a democrat for most of my life but The Far left Wing Coo Coo's and all of their slopping blathering slobbering do-gooder bullsh!t drove me out.

    Examples
1 Coddle the criminal blame the victim.
2 Blame America (their own country) for everything.
3 Favor one religion over another
    4 Liberal Racism
5 They ride Jets & SUV's but want me to ride a bike.
6 They want to take my gun away but do nothing about the Bad Guys Gun.
7 Give Illegal Aliens things free that I can't afford to give my kids.
8 CODDLE CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS (goofy mc cain went along with this)
9 Force kids in school to "Eat Their Green Sh!t"
10 Liberals always scream about freedom but they want to destroy mine.

THE LEFT WING USES THE CONSTITUTION TO TRY AND DESTROY THE CONSTITUTION

(THERE ARE A FEW MORE BUT I WOULD GET BANNED)

My opinion is F*** liberals and conservatives.

I take my politics cafeteria-style myself.

Like I've said many times, anyone who adhere's to straight-line party-line politics is incapable of thinking for themselves.

Neither liberal nor conservative is a party line. You should have used more of that "thinking for yourself" before writing that.

I'm probably more left than liberal, as well, but in American politics liberal seems to be the opposite of conservative. I suppose "right" and "left" might have been better terms to use, but I wanted to keep the poll the same as the ones before it.

    Can't pick one, sorry.

Clearly "left" on social issues, "right" on economics / business, middle but right-leaning on fiscal policy.

I do dislike the GOP much more, however.

On some things, I might even be more "liberal" than you are. Definitions like these are misleading, of course. For instance, many people think we should avoid military action (wars) unless we are being really threatened. That opinion these days has been perverted to mean you are soft, wimpy and "liberal" when it is, in fact, a traditional, conservative point of view.

Mistrust of government is also hard for one camp or another to lay claim to, and one that often leads to contradiction. In the 60's and 70's, mistrust of the feds was targeted at the Pentagon by leftists, then by everyone during Watergate, and today by rightists of the Tea Party in regards to spending (except for the military and corporate welfare). Oversimplistic definitions of individuals always fail in light of these dynamics. The terms have always been interchangeable with the definitions and those who use them, rendering them meaningless in the Big Picture.
