Not only would the Pats have the 2nd pick, but they would also have the 2nd pick in the third round, thanks to Oakland.

Could we rape Oakland/San Francisco anymore this year? Here are the trades:

San Francisco 49ers: Acquire pick No. 28 (selected OT Joe Staley).
New England Patriots: Acquire pick No. 110 and a first-round pick in 2008

then we turn around and trade No. 110 to Oakland for a guy named Randy Moss.

So we traded the 28th pick in the draft for Randy Moss, and what stands to be the 2nd pick in the draft. This might go does as the most one sided sports trade of all time!!!!!

Then they went and traded again with Oakland:
Oakland Raiders: Acquire pick No. 91 (selected OT Mario Henderson).
New England Patriots: Acquire pick No. 211 (seventh round) and Oakland's third-round pick in 2008.

This pick right now, would be the 2nd pick in the third round, which , thanks to Godell, would be equal to the last pick in the second round or pick #65, so the Pats waited a year, and will have moved up twenty-six slots.

So if the draft was today the Pats would have picks:
2, 63, 65, 95, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th (compensation picks will change the selection numbers of all the picks after the third round).

There is no way on Gods green earth that the Pats will be awarded any free agent compensation picks for this year, so this will be all the picks.

So the Pats can draft for need(LB and CB) in rounds two, three and beyond. Yet they are still able to use the 1st rounder on the best player available. Taking the best player available also deprives another team from drafting the same guy based on need. Muhahaha Muahaha!

At #2 it means that at least one of the Long boys will be available.

But neither is worth a $40 plus million dollar contract.

In the 2nd and 3rd I hope Jake Ikegwouna and Ray Rice are still on the board. Japser Brinkley will be awesome if he recovers from his ACL injury. Picks 63 and 65 look a good when you look at the guys that will be available.
