Heard her presser she was a nervous as a cat jumping in the ocean. She called the CIA liars, the CIA went in the briefings to do a CYA, we'll see how they respond, heat up the popcorn.

Apparently she now is positioning herself that only waterboarding is torture among the EIT's since she claimed to not know we had 'tortured anyone' and was specific that she wasn't told of waterboarding anyone, admitted she knew about other EIT (non specific).

OMG, I think I AGREE with you.

I saw it but didn't listen to the whole thing. She was sucking her teeth to beat the band.

How is waterboarding somehow Pelosi's fault even if she did know about it? It's not like she's authorizing it. This game is about combining a deflection with an attack.

Let's all remember that waterboarding is W's gig.

You're deflecting. This post is about questioning if Pelosi is lying about her being briefed on waterboarding. The legality is another issue. The two are related so I believe the discussion is appropriate.

That's not the point. The person responsible for water-boarding is W, not Pelosi and this game is about shifting goal posts. Pelosi was in no position to influence the matter anyway so she's playing it close to the vest and the right is trying to sink her while divesting themselves of responsibility. It's attack Clinton and the Blue Dress all over again.

Did you get a copy of her statement to regurgitate???

The point is this, Bush/Cheeny think the EIT's were legal and justified.
Pelosi said Waterboarding was illegal. Yet she KNEW what was happening and didn't object.

This make her unlike Bush a hypocrite.:singing:

She was in no position to influence policy, so it's moot. Cheney would have just told her to f*** off anyway.

Oh yeah, didn't W say he wasn't a nation builder? :ugh:

So Pelosi is a hypocrite, so what? How does this absolve the Bush administration of their crimes?

Look, just yesterday or the day before she was trying to say she did object back then and thought that Jane Harmon was speaking for her or some bologna like that. Today she denies knowing anything about it. She's up to her neck in this. If she thought it was illegal then she should have lodged some kind of protest even if it was to the ones that briefed her. She didn't, she should pay for that. Everyone knowing or not knowing doesn't change the legality one way or the other, happy now? If one pays they all pay. If I turn my head away at work to someone sexually harassing another employee then I'm as responsible as the harasser.

This thread is about Pelosi not Bush.

This neither absolves nor condemns Bush. It is a situation of a person in a glass House (Pelosi) throwing rocks.

If you want to talk about whether the EIT was a crime or not feel free to start a thread on the topic.

Actually it's about deflecting away from Bush, which makes it very much about Bush. Pelosi is a nobody in the enablement of this policy, so it's dishonest to turn it into a Pelosi issue as opposed to a Bush administration policy issue.

Ok, say we all agree that Pelosi is a huge hypocrite who didn't speak up about waterboarding when she knew it was going on. What's next....

I would like the transcripts of the questioning released to see how many if any American lives were saved.

Since I am fine with what was done to these mass murderers, that would take care of things for me.

I would like to see Pelosi resign.
