Funny, that same joke was made a while ago and no one said anything and wessie didn't post it.

And then there was the german newspaper that showed the picture of the white house and captioned it "uncle barack's cabin" (after uncle tom's cabin). FTW posted it, and no one complained about it either.

But of course, now it was related to the GOP, so it's newsworthy for wes and other crybaby liberals (all of them).

Wes, I realize you just copied what you wrote from the headline of the americablog post, but it fails to note that this pin was not being distributed by the GOP (thank goodness), but was on sale from one small vendor there:

"At the Republican state convention, a booth hosted by Republicanmarket was selling a pin Saturday that says: If Obama is President will we still call it the White House."

So this pin was being sold by some private company of idiots, not the GOP itself, and distasteful political schwag is available from both sides.

Just thought I'd clarify a wes post AGAIN.

From a Party that is regularly accused of racial insensitivity, it seems a bit insensitive that they should sell such items. Then again, when you have a whole bunch of white folks judging on behalf of blacks what's insensitive and what's not, what else should we expect?

Except the party wasn't selling them...do you have a problem with reading comprehension?

BTW--that's exactly what you're doing most of the time. You just have a different view--so I guess that makes it okay for you to speak for all the (fill in the blank).

It wasn't the Republican Party selling them. Did you also notice that they were selling this pin? "I will hold my nose when I vote for McCain" They should have kicked those guys out. And Patters, can whites have an opinion on the subject or do they have to accept whatever a black says is incencitive no matter what it is?

That's why I made sure to point out that you just reposted what was written, to let people know that it wasn't you that was being disingenuous this time. The point is that reposting a misleading headline still makes it misleading. You post example after example of lazy journalism, or headlines from biased sources, or sometimes you just conveniently leave out critical facts from an article you post. This is frustrating to me because it is a clear pattern of behavior from you, and you can do it as much as you like (obviously) but it only serves to stop people from taking you seriously when you have an actual good point to make.

As for you Patters, I agree 100% that this pin is offensive, but what are the rules for selling this stuff at state conventions? Have people selling offensive pins and shirts about Bush been kicked out of Dem conventions before?

You can call me whatever you like, it makes no difference to me, and changes nothing--you're still wrong and you still went over a line with that last post of yours.

There is a basic rule of social etiquette that states that if someone tells you that you insulted them by saying "X" then you owe them an apology regardless of what your intentions were. It is never up to the accused whether or not they offend someone, it is always up to the one offended.

But of course there are many less than graceful people in our society who would rather ramble about why the person "shouldn't be offended" rather than apologize to them.

There otta be a school for this stuff:rolleyes:
