I get that a little bit of this joy is nervous energy... "Yes we beat the Pats!" but the reality will set in this was just a battle, not the war.

Despite their vaunted defense we won the time of possession battle and heavily in the first half. It was a good defense and typically Brady can make the key throws that lead to scores but they just weren't there Sunday. Don't expect that to happen twice.

The Jets offense was anemic except for two drives. They stung for sure but expect our defense to gel. Losing Meriweather was tough and he obviously blew the 45-yd play. I'd call this an anomaly.

As the week's march on and the Jets record moves closer to .500, I see this Week 2 win as the high point of their season. After Week 14, we'll be back to "Cheaters" and "Spygate" as Ryan munches on his Funyans, grumbling something about Belichick's onion rings.

    No Jersey Selected

Didn't you hear....the Jets won the Superbowl:rolleyes:, well according to them. The parade is this week.

I agree, trash-talking gets really old and will wear them down as the season grinds on and a lot of teams will rise up to play them each week.

I'm not going to waste any more energy worrying or even thinking about the Jets until late in the evening on November 15th after the Colts game; their problems are their problems.

Now the only team I'm thinking and worrying about is Atlanta, who will be a handful this Sunday and who bring a far better QB to town than the two guys we barely beat and lost to so far. After that, I'm going to start worrying and thinking about a hungry, tough Ravens team with a big chip on their shoulder after losing to the Steelers last year.

Yep. Perplexing, cuz he's my fantasy TE.

OK, not really. I hope we can shut him down.

The Jets aren't nervous as they should be after winning the week 2 superbowl. They have to play an very good 0-2 Tennesse team next week. IMO, Tenn is built to handle the Jets blitz where everything is short and all they need to do is get Chris Johnson in space (what I was hoping we could do with Welker). Lucky for them they are playing at home.

The Jets are far from being nervous. They are very confident right now, after beating the Patriots.

But they'll pay the price for putting so much into one game. There's bound to be a letdown. Their next three games are hard.

I wouldn't call their offense anemic. Ryan did what he had to do. He played his cards safe, then opened up the offense when he needed to. It looked like the Patriots circa 2001 out there.

That being said, it's never smart to leave Brady with 2 minutes on the clock at the end of a game.

The next 3 games. I said the same thing on our board. I'm not saying we will win all, or lose all, but the let down will come in the next 3. I sure hope it's against the Titans or Saints. A loss to the Dolphags, especialy if we beat the Titans and Saints would be an embarassment, you guys have heard that word before, right? I am nervous, but not for the loss, I know it will come. i am nervous for the oppoent it come's against.

No need to be nervous. However, they merely held serve last Sunday at home against a Pats team who played the previous Monday night.

I know. I don't understand it either. I guess anything to diminish the Jets victory.

as one Lawrence Maroney pointed out in 2007, "We dont wanna blow our wad early." The Jets may have blown theirs on Sunday.

    I'm sure they are trembling.

In fact, I would guess that some of them, in private, wish they'd lost the game.

I don't think they can play every game like it's the super bowl.
A team can't put that kind of energy into every game of the season.
    It's a long season and it's week 2.

In addition I wonder if this trash talking precedent they have set is going to continue to other teams. Since right now it's cute AFC EAST trash talking thing but other teams in the NFL do not talk that much and the JETS in my opinion have put a target on their backs. Play the game like a professional.

And other teams are going to want to put the Jets in their place.
So I think this is advantageous from the sense that other teams are going to want to shut the jets up. We're not NE, and we're not going to back down from you like they did.

I felt prior to last Sunday's game that regardless of the outcome, the Jets could be setting themselves up for a big letdown this week. I'll be very curious to see how they do against Tennessee.
