Which season should they use?

I watched the movie Rush for the first time about four weeks ago. For what it's worth, I highly recommend it. It's about the 1976 Formula 1 racing season, and the rivalry between all-time great, Niki Lauda, and one time champion hot-shot James Hunt. FANTASTIC MOVIE. Coincidentally, the soundtrack for Rush is used in the Brady v Manning tribute video below.

So it's the offseason, and maybe some of us could use a break from the stupidity of 0.8 PSI under regulation in cold, rainy conditions.

Which NFL season would you think would make for the best to tell the tale of the greatest QB rivalry in NFL history?

Keep the following in mind:

With Tom Brady being a 4 time Superbowl champion, and winning the head-to-head match ups by an overwhelming margin, it goes without saying that Tom Brady won this rivalry decisively. That said, the season chosen doesn't necessarily have to reflect that, because, like with the movie Rush, a voice-over narration as the movie comes to an end, can set that record straight. Choosing a season where Tom Brady whips Peyton's ass, which would be most of them, isn't really necessary for the purpose of documenting the drama of their rivalry.

At first I was thinking the 2007 season, because it would follow Tom's quest for perfection, they played against each other, and it could end with Tom falling before the Giants pass rush, with Peyton cheering on his ******ed Gomer Pile brother from the luxury box (that irritated the hell out of me, the jealous prick)

But then I thought 2006, however unfortunate a season ender it was, would be better, because they played each other twice that year, it probably represented Peyton's best playoff game (ref ball aside), and could incorporate Peyton praying on the sideline for a win, "since Tom already had 3 rings." It kind of sucks because Indianapolis won both games that season, both for dramatic storytelling purposes, it would probably be the best, because every other season Peyton just gets stomped out, and it wouldn't make a very good movie.

Considering everyone knows Brady owns Manning anyway, 2006 would probably be the one I would choose, but the narration would be Tom-centric, since Peyton actually wins the game, similar to how Rush dealt with the Niki Lauda and James Hunt rivalry.

I suppose if you wanted to just do a Patriots **** yeah movie, you could do the 2003 or 2004 seasons, since the Pats beat on the Colts twice both seasons and Tom wins the Superbowl at the end of each, but it would be short on drama.

Thoughts/Reasons?

2006 was ********. Refs cost us a title.

It would be 2014 and it's a no brainer. Several of Montana's record fell before our very eyes. That was enough to debate at the very least who is the greatest post season QB of all time. For me it solidified the whole deal. The goat-greatest etc.

Hmmm not sure. But I know Hollywood would use the 2006 season. Came to Foxboro and beat Brady and then had the come back in the AFCC game and went on to win the SB.

But there is no doubt in my mind that down the road someone will try to make this a movie. Let's hope it is Wahlberg.

Oh I could see it now. Reggie Wayne does a double move on Hobbs and scores.(no face guarding, which there wasn't) Caldwell dropping the ball on the Pats final drive only so Peyton can drive down the field to score the game winner in the last second. All changed up for the good of the NFL.

Starring Ryan Gosling as Tom Brady and Fred Gwynne as Peyton Manning.

They already made a movie about the mannings.

2004 is when we shined.

People always want to put an asterisk on our sb wins but the 2006 Colts showcased the most blatant cheat job from the refs I have ever seen in that afccg. Then Rex Grossman for the cherry on top. In my eyes, Peyton's only ring is the least impressive accomplishment in football.

Rush was a fantastic movie! The movie was pretty accurate too how it all really went down. :)

That being said, why would anyone make a movie about Brady vs Manning? Manning is a choker. Making a porno would be more in line with Manning. He's good at choking.

2014. Chevy Chase as Manning playing keep away w Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller.

Ok, I'll be the contrarian. What rivalry? 11-5 in favor of Brady. Seems a bit one sided to me. But I digress....

I'd say 2014. But only if the beginning of the movie started with the end of the 2013 season with Manning getting wiped out by Seattle in the Superbowl. Obviously only to have the movie end with Brady having the greatest comeback in Superbowl history by beating almost the exact same team Manning lost to.

Obviously the movie will need to have a reference to deflated balls in the AFCC. Which can be talked about in the epilogue after the movie. Something like this:

"Several months after the Patriots Superbowl victory, the NFL, in an act of pure hatred and jealousy, attempted to discredit Brady's reputation with a report on deflategate so flawed and devoid of facts that the NFL commissioner would not allow it to be seen by an independent arbiter. "

"As a result of this report, Tom Brady was suspended for the first 4 games of 2015"

"Ultimately, Tom Brady took the case to court where it was proven that in no way were Brady and any other Patriots personal were found to have tampered with any footballs at any time. "

"Furthermore, a deeper conspiracy of corruption was uncovered in the NFL front office in an attempt to level the playing field in the NFL by making up and punishing the Patriots on false charges of tampering. As a result, Roger Goodell was forced to resign after the 2015/16 NFl season. With his last act as commissioner being......."

Then the a picture comes up of Goodell, handing the Lombardy trophy to Tom Brady, with red, white and blue confetti falling, a Superbowl 50 banner in the backround and Tom Brady holding up the number 5.

Oh, got the chills at that mental image.

I don't see how they would make a movie about it, its not much of a rivalry, as brady as thoughly and consistently dominated any team peyton has been on, so in order for it to work Hollywood style, it would need to be very Thunder Alley esque, where early in the movie it shows how Peyton is this blue chipper right, and he comes out of college, and that first year he's good but his team blows, then this nobody shows up named tom brady, and kind of out of no where hes winning titles, and that puts peypey as the underdog, and its about the struggle to overcome the pressure to be greatness, and then brady wins again, and again.

Then spygate happens, and the movie turns brady full on villian mode, he cuts his hair marries a model, etc etc goes to another superbowl(loses) to peytons little brother, and peyton is in the box and hes watching the game and its cutting between peyton in the box and brady on the field, peyton watches his brother win a title before he does, and deep music is playing, and then the movie ends after peyton wins his title.

There is no scenerio where hollywood makes a movie about brady and manning, and brady is anything but the "villian"

Why in the world would they make a movie about the GOAT and some other guy, and base it on one of the rare games the other guy won? More importantly, what would a Patriot fan suggest that?

I think Brady has dominated manning but I also give the man credit for making it to a super bowl with Denver. I think it's funny that manning and Brady keep get older and keep representing the afc in the sb. None of the young qbs can get there.

I'd run it that way.

Maybe start with the afccg, complete with over dramatized cheap shot on Talib (or maybe make it so the coward just ****es out or takes a bribe before bailing ship to join the noodle company). A quick overview of the curb stomping manning took in the following sb before jumping to the 14 season (hell, that first play, followed by a manning face and "that was as close as the game ever was.")
