Do you trade our 1st and 3rd to move up and get him?

I would in a heart beat.

Jason Taylor potential. Needs to add weight and get stronger. Still learning how to be a DE (formerly a RB). But a couple years from now he could be a top pass rusher in the league. Ninkovich is 30 btw, and for the time being Barr could spell our starting DE's and rush the pass on 3rd down with Chandler kicking inside.

I would. I like the kid and it seems that players that convert from other sports/positions always seem to stand out in my mind.............Graham, Welker, Solder, Kaepernick are a couple that come to mind right away...

Besides in the past when the Pats made bolder moves in the draft it garnered Chandler/Hightower, Gronk in trade ups and Moss/Welker, Dillon thru trades.........BB gets a mulligan for Chad Jackson but otherwise they've panned out pretty OK.

He wouldn't have to start right away and could grow into the starters role and be a force opposite Jones.I think hes the most gifted pass-rusher after Mack and Clowney without the "taking plays off worries" of the latter and "lack of high-level competition stigma" of the former

I would in a nanosecond. A few months ago, this kid was being talked about in some mocks as a top ten pick. If he or Pryor drop to the low 20's, I would hope the Pats trade up for them.

We don't have enough ammunition to both trade up and also address all of our needs. I'd stay put.

I don't think a third would be enough to move up 9 spots, we'd probably have to give a 5th too

We have 8 picks. But I agree, I would be reluctant to give up any picks in the 2-4 round range as I think those are a sweet spot this year.

Only a sweet spot if we hit. If we pull a move like Tavon Wilson where we draft Vinny Gumbatz out of Skid Row State, those picks aren't very sweet. If you can move up just a bit for a more proven commodity at the college leve, you do it IMO.
