Can we create a special Forum "Moron writes opinion piece trashing Pats with pure innuendo no new factual content whatsoever"?

It would save readers here lots of wasted clicks.

Thanks PWP, I've taken to just scrolling down to the first responders (such as you) instead of visiting any more of these speculators!

His entire story was based on his opinion that Walsh "must" have something, why else would he be doing this.....and why would Spector be involved.

Therefore, suspend BB and wipe out the Superbowl victories.

I will be so happy when this guy is exposed, hang in there Patsfans -" he who laughs last...."

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

The article is titled "There has to be more to the Spygate story"

And yet for all the attention he gives to Senator Specter this earnest reporter never once uses the word "Comcast" in what I'm sure he would like people to believe is a fair and balanced story.

There is more to Spygate and that's exactly where the attention should be - if people are this up in arms about "corruption" in football, they're going to be outraged when they learn of Comcast's role in influencing Senator Specter.

The bottom line on Walsh however is that we have someone fired for unauthorized taping (assuming the Patriots can corroborate that) and that any other tapes Walsh has will similarly be suspect of being obtained without authorization.

Kindof ironic, but that's the bottom line - Walsh has no credibility if indeed he asserts he had authorization to make any tapes of anything.

The only advantage the Patriots had in '01 was the fact that Mike Martz was on the opposing sideline.

There is one. The VLR and I'll send it there.

BrianPat just posted something that was out there. He's not responsible for the non-sense contained in the article. However the thread title should have been 'Wishes" or "Hopes" instead of "is sure". There was no thought in that article.

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

The current media tide has turned against Walsh so this misinformation monger decides to go against the grain to get clicks. It's comical how he grasps at straws here. I know he's quoting Specter here:

but WTF does that even mean? The Rams were 1-for-1 in the Red Zone.

And for the record I have to say I don't mind these Spygate threads popping up. It's fun to see common fans on a messageboard rip apart and point out all the inaccuracies of articles written by professional sports writers.

Thanks, that's why I posted it. I'm sorry if I've offended posters, but this was the most brutal I've seen thus far !

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

Nearly everybody out there was sure that Pats would win 07 SB. Guess what happened.? So much for being 'SURE'.

If Specter really wants to get to the bottom line of it, i suggest that he ask Gooddell to do the same to every SB game instead of focusing solely on Pats. Let start with the first SB game.

If SB games aren't enough, Goodell needs to go through every AFC and NFC championship game and so on.

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

This article offers absolutely NOTHING new.

Its nothing and I'd put money that the only reason Walsh wants indemnity is to protect himself from a defamation of charaacter lawsuit that is sure to follow from Belichick and the Patriots.

    JSP -
He actually DOES say that Specter has strong financial ties to Comcast, but never follows up on it. (3rd paragraph)

I wonder if he called for both of Denver's SB wins to be wiped out.

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

no Senators has any interest in spygate except Specter. When the economy is no good and we have unresolved problems, Specter is no where to be found or heard.

I wonder if Specter was selected because of his NFL skills.? If so, he needs to be in NFL commitee instead of being in Washington.

Re: Ian O'Connor of Foxports is sure Walsh has something

Maybe what he wants indemnity for is the sale of the official team recording of the game winning kick in SB 36 on Ebay. If he does have that maybe he's been looking for a way to cash in on it for 7 years and now he thinks he's found a way to do it. And if the Pats sue him to get it back, wouldn't it be a hoot if the NFL had to pay the Pats for the value of that tape.

(okay it's a slow night doing 4th grade homework!)
