I think we overestimated the season

I estimated the season to be 16 games long. Oooooops.:D

Still, if you're quitting now, we're still division winners and in the playoffs.

What am I missing here?

I think KDPpatsfan is correct. Some forum members boasted early

on that this was going to be the best Pats team of all time. It

obviously isn't. This team won't even make the playoffs if they

continue to make turnovers.

Even the much maligned Jacky Roberts may be correct. The

success or failure of a team is largely determined by what they do

in free agency. If a team loses several good players, they must

replace them with players of equal ability. The draft is only

frosting on the cake until the rookies gain experience.

I assume your a world champion Redskins fan.

Christ, I love how spoiled Pats fans are ready to jump off the ledge at the first sign their beloved team is not going to go 14-2.

Newsflash: Indy & Denver are good. Arguably two best teams in the AFC. Pats lost to each by 7, with a legit chance to actually tie Indy. And that's when they weren't playing their A-game, more like their C- to D-game.

Losing to the Jets sucked, but the Jets are looking more like a 9-7, 10-6 wild card team than a 6-10 cellar dwellar. No shame in a divisional loss.

Unless you were no naive to think the Pats would cruise through this season with minimal bumps, no one should be surprised.

The Vegas over/under on NE was 10.5 for a reason: this is a 10-6, 11-5 team. They still have a chance to get hot at the end and ride momentum into the playoffs, so let's all chill out.

IIRC, the patriots have NEVER swept the division including the 2003 and 2004 teams, which were pretty darn good teams. The Jets game was make or break for their season and we faced a coach that knows us well. There was no shame in losing this one to a desperate team that was willing to gamble all game long. At this point, we're a good team and likely to get better. Except for 2004, which we were clearly the head of the class, there have always been question marks. As fans, its fine to question and be concerned. I for one am confident that BB and the team leaders will do what they need to do to excel late in the season and in the playoffs. They've been there before. Will it be enough? Who knows but I will try to enjoy the ride.
