Find a better slot receiver than Welker ... No.
Find a better RB than Maroney ... No.
Bring in better pass protecting RB's ... No and Why?
If someone can explain to me how Moss would be more effective near the end of the season then I don't see it. If Randy wants to go over the middle more on 10-15 yard routes than for sure bring him back .. otherwise I would much rather see the money spent to shore up our defense ... a defense that has broken down 2 years in a row at the worst possible time.
We don't need to break records to win the Super Bowl again .. we just need more consistency and more depth for the O-Line and youth for the LB's ... Moss is gone IMO ...Stallworth also ... a more potent 2-headed running attack with Faulk as the #3 IMO will prove to be a better investment.
Let me get this straight, you guys don't think Moss is worth it because he didn't have big games in the playoffs?
1. Welker, Gaffney, and Stallworth would NOT have had even close to as much production if Moss wasn't on the field.
You do realize that the reason why Moss didn't have many receptions in the first 2 playoff games is because he is SOO good, the opposing defense refused to let him beat them. That means he was double, triple, quadruple covered ALL the time. That OPENS up the field for the other guys.
In the Superbowl, Moss had 5 receptions for 62 Yds and a TD. He got WIDE open on at least 5 plays, but Brady didn't have the TIME to get the ball to him, or over threw him. Does that mean Moss was useless? I think not... On the 2nd hail marry in the last drive of the SB, Moss blew by the 2 DBs covering him. Let me say that again, Randy Moss blew by 2 DBs who were EXPECTING him to run deep and Brady to get it to his best reciever. Brady just didn't get enough air under the ball.
Unless we are moving south or building a dome I don't see the winter going away. Not having the playoff advantage is not an option so basically we get a great player for most of the season and hopefully the super Bowl if we make it ... there are better ways to spend 6-8 million. We won 3 SB's without Moss ... last I checked anyways.
You do realize that the only reason Moss didn't have much "production" in the first 2 playoff games had NOTHING to do with the weather. The opposing teams game plan was simple, they refused to let Moss beat them. Guess what happens when the other team covers Moss with 2,3,4 guys... OTHERS GET OPEN!!!! And guess what, that happened.
Also, that idea doesn't really make any sense. Playoff wise, they play 2 games in NE, then the SB is elsewhere. So why would the cold matter all that much? Anyways, in the NYG game in week 17, he had 100 yds and 2 TD in the bitter cold.
Moss had arguably the most productive season any WR has ever had. He has great great great great chemistry with Brady. HE IS THE BEST WR TO EVER PLAY FOR THE PATRIOTS. Let me say that again, as I think it is important. RANDY MOSS IS THE BEST WR TO EVER PLAY FOR THE PATRIOTS. Not only that, but most people consider him the 2nd,
2nd Greatest WR of ALL TIME, and you guys don't think he should be on the team?
If you don't think the Patriots WANT him on this team, you need to see a doctor because there is something very wrong with your head.
