From now on lets agree that links from the following websites are NOT considered reliable and therfore cannot be used to support an argument.
    Here is the list:

    LIBERAL SITES:
    Democratic underground
    ACLU
    Moveon.org
    Mediamatters
    CNN
    NY Times
    LA Times
    any San Francisco newspaper
    Ed Shultz

    CONSERVATIVE SITES:
    Newsmax.com
    Drudge
    AnnCoulter.com

    Can we agree to this?

I'll leave it to someone else to question the fairness of you listing three conservative sites and 9 liberal sites (one of which is "any San Fransisco newspaper"), I'll just point out that these sites may or may not be 100% reliable, depending on what you're researching. If you want to see if the ACLU files a suit against somebody, a press release announcing the litigation on their site is close to primary evidence. The crazy thing is people treating any editorials & opinions as news, whether they come from Ann Coulter, the New York Times, or somebody's crazy uncle.

Have you disproved the rumsfeld photo yet, do a search and post the facts.
Until then that the only one who is biased is one who doesn't research the issue to make sure it's legit or not legit.
And that list should include the whitehouse press release to every media outlet on the planet.

    Readers Digest?

Hate to say this, but seems you begged the right wing side, how about adding:

    Rush Limbaugh
    Bill O'Reilly
    Savage
    Hannity

I am not sure I agree with this rule, need to sleep on it though.

    No:

Even the political sites sometimes have accurate information.

Other times...they give you ideas for finding the correct information.

Lastly...they give you an opposite point of view that can help make you look furthur.

The only problem is, NEM uses all those liberal sites for links and no one calls him on it, yet when i post something from Newsmax..everyone complains that its biased. What gives?

Sometimes people call Blue Collar for the mediamatters links. The left may be more sensitive to opposing POV's.

They also use other left wing sites as reference, what a joke.

It is also run by a compulsive liar.

Many of the clip I have vbiewed were taken out of context and deceptive.. Whne I gone to other sites to get complete transcripts it made the media matters stuff look like a political ad. Coming from the people who involved this isn't unexpected.

I don't know. the story was retracted and oreilly mea culpaed.
I'm taking it, that you're still believing this latest smear campaign even though there is a retraction and an apology admitted by oreilly?

Maybe you can do a search and prove that murtha did in fact say it. Then call fox news and they can retract the mea culpa, I'm sure they would love to.

9 sites vs 3. He he he.

Anyone who trusts any site out there without multiple independent sources is a dingleberry.

I'd like to propose a rule about starting dumb threads, but that would go against my philosophy of letting people figure things out for themselves.

I think a more responsible way of doing this, not sure if I agree yet or not, is to use any of the sites to google to a more credible source. i.e. NEWSMAX reports that Hillary wears boxer shorts, find out from another source if she really does or not or if this is just a figment of the imagination. Too often I see posters post something preposterous, only to be validated by an obscure right or left wing web site.

Fox in general is pretty obviously less reliable and has less integrity than, for example, the NYT. The fact that the list is so biased makes for a comical statement in itself.

Good concept, if the devil weren't in the application... and another good reminder how important the freedom so sort through the crap oneself is.

That isn't obivious at all to many. The ratings say that Fox is by far a preferred media source. They haven't had anything comprable to Jason Blair for example.

I was responding to media matters on general and not the O'Reilly clip in particular. Fankly I don't watch o'reilly or his competitors at night. Your response is a prime example or trying to cherry pick and take things out of context to make a phoney point.

This is a bad idea in principle and even worse in execution.

ALL of these sites sometimes have good information. ALL of them are sometimes wrong. The source isn't important. What's important is, is it true?

We have our own attitudes and beliefs about the sources' general credibility, and usually these ideas match our own political inclinations. For instance, I find the Times generally reliable. I also find Drudge fairly reliable--after all, there is little original reporting on Drudge. He is mainly an aggregator.

Furthermore, none of us here are idiots. Identify the source, provide a link and we can make up our own minds.

So no, no censorship here, no censorship anywhere. We may be forced to think for ourselves, but that's all to the good.

Your right and I don't think the "Liberal Colleges" should censor Ann Coulter she is an American and she has the same rights as Al Gore.

Is "Fox News" censored anywhere, I have heard that some Sheraton Hotels won't allow it to be shown on their Cable, is this true? I am not saying they do I am asking, many liberals have a way of twisting a Neo Cons words (I am a Neo Con).

There were some on here that wanted a "Nice Neo Con" like me Censored simply because I don't know a lot about football.

While I am on football, do any of you remember a guy that played for the Patriots named "DIX" I think he played during the Seventies?

Heck a lot of them do that. There is a constant implication from the left that anything from Fox News is completely unreliable. But they have no problem with CBS (forged Bush documents that any 10 year old could know were fake), the Boston Globe (Half and Suzanne Zantopf debacle) or NBC, who grossly lied to us when they rigged explosives to side mounted gas tanks.

Any network or newspaper will print or show anything that will drive their agenda (political or monetary). What gives Fox a worse reputation is their sensationalism (it's a common theme with all Rupert Murdock companies). You know stuff like "Is a popular breakfast cereal killing you? Watch the special report to find out which one!" and then all they turn up with is a story about how sugar is bad for you. Everytime I watch Fox News I feel like it could turn into "When Good Pets Go Bad!"
