Leslie Nielsen, 1926-2010. May he rest in peace.
I guess we can stop calling him Shirley now.
I wonder if there are grown men, naked, in heaven.
That second one was Peter Graves' line.
R.I.P Leslie Neilsen
Surely you can't be serious?
The guy was one funny dude. RIP Leslie.

Rumack: Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain Oveur: I can't tell.
Rumack: You can tell me. I'm a doctor.
Captain Oveur: No. I mean I'm just not sure.
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess?
Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?
The casting effort in the film Airplane was top notch, using mostly character actors in comedic roles. Robert Stack, Peter Graves etc...
But the standout was by far Neilson, who went on to build a comedic legacy starting with Police Squad, and then the Naked Gun films.
Too bad to see such a funny guy have to face what we all have to face.
At times like this, its nice to not be a judgmental person. Lets face facts, Neilson was your prototypical Hollywood wife swapper, having been married and divorced to 4 different women. As I see it since there was never any sign that he was rough on any of those women, its none of my business
I just wonder how all the social conservatives can justify mourning him.
Well I think we found something you and I agree on! I swear I was just thinking earlier today that the two main characters in Airplane, Striker and Elaine, really could have been played by anyone. But Robert Stack, Peter Graves and Leslie Neilson was just brilliant casting. Their over the top seriousness makes it all the more hilarious.
Show's over folks! Nothing to see here!
Wow. Anyone but me ever notice that anytime a conservative tries to start a thread that is a tribute having nothing to do with politics, some liberal has to come in and do the scuzzy maneuver of making it partisan?
Way to keep it classy, sdaniels. I'm sure you're feeling very proud of yourself.
One of the "good ones" out there in Hollywood, RIP.
I thought this was one of his best lines, he was visiting OJ Simpson in the hospital after OJ had been dragged through the city under a car and he said "I have some good news, we saved your leg, it's downstairs in a barrell in the Mortuary"
Lets not forget Lloyd Bridges.
"looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffin' glue"
OR...Mrs Cleaver "Excuse me ma'am, I speak Jive"
Casting at its finest.
Yes, he had his share of Wives but he wasn't a piece of stinking sh!t like Penn, Clooney, Whoopi, Baldwin etc etc he went about "his own business" he never tried to tell the public how they should act or who they should bring home to dinner.
If you're a judgmental POS then you have to deal with what you are ALL the time. Just because you want to pretend, with your Crocodile tears, that your rules only apply some of the time, doesn't make it real.
Strap a set of balls on and own what you say Harry. You can't b!itch about Hollywood WIFE SWAPPERS and ignore who this guy was.
Let's all take stock. I make a tribute thread to an actor who recently died. This actor has given me more than my fair share of laughs and I was genuinely saddened to hear of his passing. My tribute wasn't even remotely poltical in nature.
Sdaniels has to come in and, completely unprovoked, turn it into partisan bickering and launch his usual array of personal insults directed at me.
Now where are all the people who are always saying that I am the one always starting fights, trolling, and looking for trouble? Where did you all go? Reflex? Titus? Wheruat? You guys going to be critical of sdaniels, or is your self righteous outrage only directed at conservatives?
Separate names with a comma.
