The utter disaster in Iraq is absolutely criminal. We have created a humanitarian disaster of a scale that compares with Darfur. We own this mess. We have lost this war in the worst way, and our only hope now is to try to find a resolution. Maybe we should give Saddam another chance? At any rate, Bush should be tried for war crimes.

Chris Matthews actually had a good point the other night. It'll all fall apart if we pull out now. It will all fall apart if we pull out in 5 years. So why not get out now and save lives. LBJ and Nixon worried about "face saving" and got tens of thousands of more americans killed and Saigon fell anyway.
Most americans thought in 2003 it was going to just like the Gulf War. Go in. Get Saddam. Get out. move on to the next terrorist state.
But this isnt dividing America like Vietnam, because most americans are in agreement about this mess. Its Bush and a small minority who still thinks this is a fine idea.
I do support the troops. I want them out of there. Its our policy and this President I dont support. Shame on him for hiding behind the "Support the troops" mantra to try to innoculate himself from his miserable failures. Hopefully, his Dad's men can save this situation from getting even worse.

Don't forget all your Democrat pals who voted for the war too. This may be on us, and more on Bush than anyone else, but he didn't go it alone.

That's because they were too lazy to look into it any further.

Hillary should be tried for war crimes. Off with her head :rocker:

To be a little clearer, now all the Dems are saying how Bush had no understanding of Middle East history and he should have known Iraq wasn't really a strong country but just different tribes held together by the strong dictator. When the dictator is gone, there's nothing to hold the tribal elements apart . . . OK, if so, what information did Hillary, et al, need ?

    Huh ?

BF, Bush is responsible. He's in charge of the military.

Congress gave him the political go-ahead. That Bush also failed politically is clear, but the punishment for that was the defeat of his party in the last election. Americans held the Republican Party more accountable than the individual candidates.

War crimes are military matters, and Bush is Commander-in-Chief. The way the war has been carried out is criminal. It appears that we have created a humanitarian disaster in Iraq.

Completely correct, even if it's being used as a "talking point". Talking points, like stereotypes, are often based on fact, if not completely factual.

Congress is lazy and they should have done more due dilligence than sticking their finger in the wind. Ted Kennedy and whoever else voted against permitting the invasion of Iraq can claim righteousness even if they had no idea what they were doing. I believe our Founding Fathers would have overwhelmingly voted against authorization of force, but politicians like them are few and far between these days.

If Saddam Hussein is sentenced to hang for causing the death of 150 Iraqi, what do you think is the proper sentence for George Bush for the death of 3,000 American boys and 500,000 Iraqi civilians?

I'm not taking blame away from Bush. But I'm not sure how you can so easily recuse Hillary and her pals.

To answer the question, Bush should not be tried for war crimes. He may have committed the crime of being a complete idiot but he hasn't killed, or ordered killed, anyone. He may have inadvertently (by the aforementioned stupidity) caused a scenario in which others could kill thousands. But those who do the killing are still ultimately responsible. I know Democrats like to blame Americans for everything but lets remember, it is the terrorists, insurgents and other bad middle easterners who are doing the killing - not Americans and not Bush.

BF, c'mon. An idiot president launches a war that leads to a complete mess and tens of thousands of truly innocent people are paying the price. What's going on in Iraq is awful, and Bush should be punished as a message to other leaders. This is what I find so hypocritical about many conservatives. They look for loopholes to shirk responsibility. While I do agree with what you said about terrorists and insurgents, the fact is we are responsible for our own. An act of personal is showing that we are capable of punishing Bush for doing so much harm. That might make us more noble than the savages who are killing civilians in the Middle East, but I'm willing to take that chance.

They may have had the votes anyway but that still doesn't excuse voting YES.

That's fine but don't give the line about how everyone knew a civil war would break out because there was no classified information needed for that.

It's still the insurgents who are responsible for the killing. It's reasonable to say that Bush set up the opportunity for them, but they're still the ones doing it.

Bring Saddam back? Is THIS all the left has to offer?

If Bush is to be tried then so is EVERY SINGLE member of congress that voted to authorize the war. They all had access to the same intelligence and if any congressperson voted yes then they had the DUTY to make sure they got as much info as humanly possible.

I agree. There is no excuse.
Dems might have won the election, but they have the same exact blood on their hands as Bush and company and shame on them for not admitting, even now, that this was a colossal mistake at best.

The punishment for political mistakes is different than the punishment for criminal mistakes. The American people punished the Republicans in the last elections in large part because of the war. They don't hold the Democrats as accountable, but Hillary, Kerry, Lieberman and other war supporters have seen their standings among Democratic activists drop in the last few months.

The punishment for military mistakes and crimes is handled by the World Court, to which we belong. If war crimes charges our brought against us (and they certainly should be), the World Court would likely try people like Bush and Rumsfeld.

When all the phony sore losing democrats that voted for the war and said "Saddam has to go" found out that Saddam got rid of his WMD's the Rat Bastards turned and stabbed Bush and the American Troops in the back.

That said, it is now time to leave, cut and run, that's what the democrats want, they want America defeated again for the history books, they want George Bush the man that "defeated them twice" crucified and degraded for future generations, the new democratic party are "VERMIN SWINE".

Those Iraqi Savage People are not worth one more American life, pull out now and let them slaughter each other, they deserve "Another Saddam" just as the American people now deserve these Phony Sore Losing Double Standard Back Stabbing Grinning Bastard Democrats.

I hope Auntie Pelosi and Chuckie Schumer stick it right up America's Rectum and they will.

Charlie Rangle is still a "Scum Bag Racist Used Car Salesman"

In other (calmer) words; are you in support of pulling out, Harry?
If so, why the "kind" words, for the Dems?

In "Calmer Words" yes it is time to leave, not because of those grinning hyenas (Dems) but because it has now become a lost cause, helping Iraq is hopeless, they have proven they don't deserve help, the hell with them, what they need is another Dictator that will cut their arms and legs off if they get out of line, the only thing that will bring peace to Iraq is another Saddam.
The whole middle east despises America because of our "Love Affair" with Israel they are also, Muslims, and no matter what the "Politically Correct Crybabys" say, their long term goal is to dominate the worlds religions, and their religion tells them to "KILL INFEDELS" to accomplish this goal, KILLING is in their "holy book".

America should now come home and take care of America, PROFILE, WIRETAP, TORTURE AND ANYTHING ELSE IT TAKES TO KEEP AMERICAN FAMILIES SAFE BECAUSE AS SURE AS GOD MADE HIS LITTLE GREEN APPLES SOMEDAY THEY WILL BE BACK TO KILL MORE OF US, THE DEMOCRATS CAN HIDE THEIR XMAS TREES, SLOBBER AND FAWN OVER THEM UNTIL THE COWS COME HOME BUT ISLAM STILL HATES THEM AND WILL KILL THEM.

WE ARE AT WAR WITH A WORLD WIDE RELIGION AND THEY HAVE NO "WAR RULES" THEY WANT YOU DEAD.
