Wow.
SUMMERTIME PLUS FREE TIME EQUALS JAIL TIME
It's becoming a common occurrence in the NFL. After the offseason workouts wrap up and the players are left to their own devices . . . all hell breaks loose.
Last weekend, a string of 27 arrest-free days was ended abruptly by three weekend busts. This weekend, they're already at it again.
According to CBS 4 in Miami, Dolphins defensive tackle Fred Evans was arrested on Friday night (or, possibly, on Saturday morning) following an argument with a taxi driver. (It's not known whether the incident was sparked by the driver saying to Evans, "You talkin' to me?")
Cops arrived, and Evans refused to get out of the cab. He eventually was on the wrong end of a Taser gun.
Per the police report, Evans allegedly bit an officer on the wrist. (Pacman called to say that that's his move.)
The charges against Evans are battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with violence, and trespassing. Once we figure out which, if any, are felonies, we'll assign the Turd Watch points.
Evans was a seventh-round pick of the Dolphins in 2006. He appeared in one regular-season game as a rookie.
Wow.
