1. They need the practice to see what works and what doesn't. Running Eckel and Evans and trying to get 3 yards a carry isn't interesting for the team, it's boring for the fans, and it just isn't realistic.

2. They did put in the subs in the 4th quarter, even Cassel. If the Redskins can't intercept Cassel, then they need help. Not the Pats' fault.

3. BB is a classy guy. He doesn't want to embarass other teams, but what is he supposed to do? NOT COMPETING would actually be more disrespectful - it would say that you are too pitiful to even play with us...we feel sorry for you. You are like a bunch of 12 year old girls, so we'll take it easy on you. If they were running the 2 minute drill...maybe it would be a little much, but they weren't.

4. It's not a good mental habit for the Pats to be in to be on the field and not competing hard. Winning is a habit. Playing hard is a habit. Going at it half-assed because you don't want to hurt the other teams' feelings will lead to mental errors and letting down your guard in future games.

5. Players are more susceptible to injury when they are playing half assed. Very bad thing to do.

I think this is the most important point and has thus far been overlooked. Our guys have to play and get better. It isn't fair to Brady, Moss, Stallworth, Welker, all these guys that are just playing their first season together, to tell them that they can only try for one half.

They need game experience to gain chemistry. They're still a work in progress. They shouldn't stifle their own development for the sake of the other team's feelings. F anybody who doesn't understand this.
