I am now 100% certain that the Pats will draft at least 2 LB's

I'm thinking 2 of Kiwi, Carpenter, Hali, Hawk, Greenway

Um, at least four of those are first rounders, and the Pats will never draft Kiwi. Just how do you see this happening?

I am 100% certain of absolutely nothing as to what the FO will do draft weekend. I don't wanna predict cuz I know I'll way, way, way wrong. :rocker:

I only see Hawk, Carpenter and Greenway as 1st rounders...Plus I can see us grabbing 1 of Denvers picks in a package deal since we have a surplus of picks.

Think about this.. Our current LB core is

OLB ...Tully(no way is he a regular player),Colvin(could be back to form)Vrabel (ILB also)

ILB: Davis(Not a regular player), Bruschi (getting up there), Claridge (proven nothing),Biesel (need I say anything) and some other nobodies.

How in the world could we not draft two LB's? (This will change if they trade for a LB)

dont completely rule out julian peterson yet..

My suspicion is that he will want WAAAAY more than his value would be to us. I would be unhappy giving him a huge contract.

last time i checked, kiwanuka was a DE, not a LB

Agreed, but I see him in the mold of Willie Mac as a 3-4 OLB

All we really need is a starting ILB and a backup OLB.

We have Vrabel and Colvin starting at OLB and Bruschi at ILB.

ILB - we need a starter and then we have Beisel and (hopefully) Claridge as backups. Call it a starter and a backup if you don't believe in Claridge.

OLB - we need a backup . . . or two if Tully can't be 4th on the OLB depth chart.

There's still a lot of FA LB too . . . we'll see.

I'm almost 100% certain that we'll draft either a TE or a DT instead. :D

Don't rule out Ray Lewis and Vrabel going back outside.

I would be ecstatic with that scenario!

Will never happen in a million years.

Never say Never

I said that when there was talk of Corey Dillon coming here and look what happened

It would take a ton to get Lewis. I knew BB drafted him in Cleveland, but I dont think the Pats are interested in Lewis.

Two words: Matthias Kiwanuka.

I'd trade a 3rd for him. That's about what it would take.

Say no to Kiwi. All kinds of physical tools but never seemed to put it together in college. Production would disappear for games on end. He might be a good pro but he'll never be a superstar. Besides, he's not a 3-4 OLB. He's a 4-3 DE. He would occasionally stand up at BC but he was nothing but mediocre in coverage and didn't really show much without his hand on the ground.

Wouldn't Kiwi be a perfect Willie Mac replacement? I think so.
