HOWE: Patriots LB Ninkovich Could Return Next Week
    By: Ian Logue

For a team that has been so unlucky with injuries this season, it appears they may have finally dodged a bullet with veteran linebacker Rob Ninkovich....

Good news. Hopefully, somebody tells him we don't play next week.:D

Seriously, was looking for a place to post after listening to Curran and Borges. Curran was OK, talking about the possibilities for an injury he knew nothing about. Borges was a bit of a douchebag saying this was just like Colvin.

Because they both have hips, I guess.

    Anyway, Happy New Year.

I take it back, Curran said it must be bad, it's Roosevelt Colvin all over again. Borges just agreed.

    lol

"What do we know about Ninkovich's injury?" Instead of saying we know nothing, we get this dire forecast. "It's not good", 'Rosie Colvin' blah blah.

My amateur eyeball test tells me it's pretty bad. I would be surprised if he came back and was the same effective guy. I hope my eyes are deceiving me too.

Probably why they go to school and buy that expensive equipment.

Curran has a knack of going out on a limb on injuries. Remember his dire forecast on Tom Brady?

My amateur eyeball test tells me that you suffered a stroke while posting. I hope I'm wrong.

Me too:) Look it folks, lots of people feared the worst after seeing what we all saw. Now there's some reports of "cautious optimism" that he "might" be ready by next week. I don't think I'm way off base thinking he might not be as effective as he usually is. On the contrary, I think anyone thinking all is well based "cautious optimism" is.

Gosh, is there a need for such a comment?

In case you aren't aware, Ian himself wrote that it looked bad especially since Ninkovich couldn't walk down the stairs into the locker room.

So, what's the big deal if the other fans also feared the worst?

Hope you try to reduce your cynicism at least in the start of a new year.

No offense, but this has to be the silliest thing I've read in a long time. Is this your first week watching the NFL. How many times in past have we seen what appear to be significant injuries, only to have the player come back within a week or two.

For that matter, how many times have we seen what appears to be a relatively minor injury, only to have the player get IR'ed a day later. The eyeball test, when it comes to football injuries may be the absolute worst judge.

    Gee-willikers, yes!

I thought it looked bad, too ... when it happened. But I didn't repeat the same assertion and back it up with my "eyeball test" a few days later in a thread with a report that it looks like he'll be back in a week.

I wasn't being the cynical one. I was mocking, and not all that roughly, either. He seemed to take it in stride.

I hope you try to reduce your buttinkskyism in the new year. :D

Well, that's at least some positive news for Ninko and the Pats.

Bad news though for posters in the game day thread that decided they could diagnose an injury from their couch and declared that Ninko was headed for IR and done for the season.

    Idiots.

I feel that defensive end is one position were we have solid depth. Between Cunningham, Francis, Scott, and Jones, I think we're covered in the possible absence of Ninko.

No offense taken I did qualified it as an amateur observation. Almost all the reporters and analysts had the same fear based on what they saw, now some are saying cautiously optimistic. Does that register on your silly meter? Is this the only week they've watched football? Of course many times it looks worse that it is. A lot of times it is as bad as it looks. We know its probably not season ending but we don't know how effective he can be next week, do we? My only conclusion was i didn't think he be as effective as he usually is. Do you think he will be? If so why? if not then we're in agreement.

Making a post saying he won't be as effective as he usually is upon return is equivalent to making the bold assertion sun to rise in East tomorrow morning.

    Jones return
    Hernandez return
    Gronk's return

    ...ad infinitum

Ha-hah! And here I was with a resolution this year to increase it - especially on public internet forums like this where I know every member so well. ;)

Your splendid comment in JI (on the Woodhead thread) makes it easy to ignore your other crude comments made under the guise of mocking. :D
