I think the passing game will be more effective in tight situations, but I think that in general the numbers will not be as good. I would not be surprised to see a larger emphasis on the running game.
But whocares?! I'm done with records and streaks and stats. All I care about is winning the Super Bowl again. I don't care if we go 8-8 and get the Wildcard as long as we win the last game of the year.
I voted for 30-40 because I think the O is going to score fewer points this year. The attack will be more balanced, still potent, but expecting another 2007 is a bit much.
You would think Tom would only have 30-35 tds based on the upcoming NFL schedule for the Pats. Our combined 2008 opponents defense =31st vs the run overall. That might give a sign of why the team seems focused on balance this season. It might be all bs though knowing our team and coaches. Brady might chuck up 51 tds, but my guess would be somewhere in the 30-40 range. Last year was just too historic for it to happen again.
I say somewhere around 33 or so. He's not likely to duplicate last seasons numbers. Partly cuz last year happens once in a lifetime, and secondly because BB won't be running up scores like he did last season.
I say somewhere between 35 and 38, leading the NFL once again in touchdown receptions. The running game is really going to bring down his attempts, methinks.
