    ROFL!! Good one Strud!

I don't ever "troll" when I am starting a thread. Also, "Trolling" is against the rules, so how do you expect people to say "Yes" and admit to breaking the rules?

    Seriously...

Unscientific experiment. Also, since almost every post in this forum reads like a troll post we'd have at least a few liars, or uncovered unintentional trolls. Sort of like trolling dissonance: "Man, I'm not a troll, now let me just tell this tell these dudes that they're nazis."

Well, to cut right to the chase...I think we'd agree that this board has deteriorated from discussing opinions and issues based upon merit & our values to "Us against them" on both sides of the politcal spectrum.

But I'd guarantee you that if times were better economically, the discourse would improve. At least that is MY opinion.

I am sincere when I say that I don't think any of our differences are due to having the first African-American president. After all, I'll admit that was a BIG reason why I voted for the man.

Piss poor leadership has let this place sink into a complete sewer, when years ago it was 80% informative and useful. There's little point in trying to be serious nowadays, your words get lost in the flood. Of course this subforum being a sewer was the owner's intention all along. It keeps the riff raff off of the important board.

The uptick in partisan hackery has made the political forum rather dull of late.

Complete agreement, if the rules of the "big" board were applied here, then this board would be down to about 3posters.. it has become a joke, the comments about Elena Kagan defied all sense of decency and no one did anything about it.. when you have mods using the "N" word and then seeing nothing wrong with it, something is wrong.. when you have a woman poster who is constanty the object of frustrated men, something his wrong..

Compare to the comments about Shalize Manza Young on the "big" board, were mild compared to what is being said here on a daily basis... and Ian closed that thread.

I guess I am confused to what "trolling" means.

I thought it was starting threads to annoy the fan base on purpose. Like Jets fans coming here to post "Brady Sucks"...

Trolling's taken on a whole new dimension, at least according to these sources. It's been going on in one form or another and to varying degrees since at least 06 but the best part is that the majority of people don't give a rats * and post anyway:rocker:

Though it initially cites the Canadian govt's hiring a media company to "troll" political boards and re-mentions Israel's cyber policy, about halfway down it becomes specific to the US.

Well, you would know:D Actually if you read closely you'll see that your definition of trolling is also used, though mainly for deflection/distraction.

    Very interesting.;)

That's a nice(small) set of balls you got there. I do wonder if you were smart enough to use a proxy. I bet not; but who cares? The idea of the people with mod panels here actually using them as the Vb people intended is laughable.

Anyhoo, to me a troll post is any post that's not based on a genuine interest in teaching or learning. Keep in mind that there's 3 levels of learning beyond 'rote' according to the experts and IMO forums provide their best assistance with those other three levels...

    well, some of them do.

note: the first 1/2 of this post most assuredly fits into the troll category.
