The NFL Network is having Dynasty Month in March. The teams are:

    The Green Bay Packers

    The Pittsburgh Steelers

    The San Francisco 49ers

    The Dallas Cowboys

    The New England Patriots

Despite some of their success in the 70's and 80's who in their right mind ever would have thought the Patriots would become one of the greatest franchises of all time? Especially during the days of Victor Kiam, Tommy Hodsdon, and HughMilliating.

They have come a long long way and now are one of the All Time Great NFL Franchises, thanks to the Kraft's, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady, as well as a large cast of contributing player's, coaches, and front office personel.

Congratulations to all of them and even to the patriot fans who supported them through all of this.

    I'm impressed.

Imagine how good they could have been if only BB knew how to draft...

A great example of how mistaken we can be as fans as I was a big supporter of Grier and put the blame on Carroll when in truth Grier was a big part of the reason they fell off after Parcells, and looking at their draft's during that time period shows that he really handed Carrroll a bag of crap to try and win with. I still think replacing him with Belichick was the best move they ever made and i would guess that everyone other than those who routinely trash Belichick would say the same but my view of carroll has changed pretty dramatically since then.

I started following the Patriots when Mike Holovak's job description was Head Coach, and tin foil gum and cigarettte collector, ball of string recycler, and empty bottle returner.

    Those were the days...

Remember Fenway Park with goal posts

    Those were the days......

It took a long time for the Pats to gain any semblence of respectibility.

The wait was worth it !!

Pats have also surpassed all of the other original AFL teams. Raiders, Broncos,
Chargers, Chiefs, Jets, Bills and Oilers/Titans for having the best overall record. Tied with Raiders for most Super Bowl wins. Tied with Denver for most Super Bowl appearances.

Raiders deserve honorable (well, maybe another word) mention. They had a pretty good run in the seventies and eighties.

As for how far we've come, I couldn't be happier. I figured getting in the SB and getting our teeth kicked in by the Bears was about as good as we'd get. Maybe a couple more teams that came close and had the coach looking for other jobs during the playoffs.

Being competitive every damn year is more than I could have wished for.

While Belichick has certainly made mistakes, I have to wonder how drafting in the worst average starting position of any NFL team for 13 years straight has affected his ability to do so.

2013 was an average year for us.. and now we are picking 29th out of 32.

That is a serious handicap year in and year out.

I wonder if they're doing this because the media expects the Seahawks to become a Dynasty?

Look at the teams that had pretty decent talent but just spiraled downwards this season (Texans, Falcons). That has NEVER happened to the Patriots in the BB years.

Of course, we all have frustrations at the team not getting over the hump recently but -- my goodness! -- the consistency of success has been astonishing. And never more so than this last season, starting with the trauma of The Prisoner and then being blitzed with more key injuries than anyone could reasonably expect.

After the season (I don't know if other people have noticed this) BB has repeatedly said how proud he was of the way the team played this season. Well, I am too -- and congratulations to him above all. A great coaching job and anyone who doesn't value it is a complete idiot.

Every year, my only expectation is for the team to never give up. There was only that one year during Brady's comeback after ACL that I thought the team was soft. Otherwise, we've been a team who always fight for 60 mins. Can't ask for more than that.

Being a dynasty is hard. We've all seen it. It's fatiguing when every freaking game the other team is saying 'This is the Patriots we are going to see how we measure up to the league's best'. Nobody mails it in against us, most years. We don't slip by people. They highlight our games on the calendar.

Our coach and QB are considered smug and arrogant. Are they? I don't know, Brady is the most Marino-esque QB on the field in quite some time and I hated Marino's field theatrics but with Brady I see it as fire and leadership so I suppose I'm as guilty as any for letting bias play in. But in the same way I think the dislike of our team comes from our success.

Will the Seahawks become a dynasty? I don't know, Wilson has matched Brady's early success now but can he become an elite-level passer like Brady did? Brady lead the league in TDs in his 3rd season (2nd as a starter)

I think everyone thought the Saints would become a dynasty in 2009, they looked like a powerhouse. Then the Packers a year later. It's really freaking hard to win in this league which makes the 'NO TROPHIES SINCE SPYGATE LAOL' meme all the more retarded. Just getting to the championship game or into the Super Bowl requires more work than I think most of us can fathom.

Though if Carroll goes on to win like, 4 SBs I'm gonna feel totally vindicated for being angry when we fired him.

Oh I'm in complete agreement. My post was a satirical statement that I made intentionally incendiary for the purpose of starting a flame war... because I was bored.

Definitely great to see the Pats amongst this group.

So dyansty month? Does anyone know what that actually means? Are they going to re-air all of the playoff games from each dynasty?

1 million Neapolitans (Italians) line up with stones in hand.. to mention nothing of the 5 million Northern Italians (also Italians)

Don't ask me, it's a real thing with Italians.

And now my Nonna is probably walking 3,000 miles to whap me in the head and tell me to "minda" my manners... thanks a lot.
