How do we slow down the Giants WR's?

Who knew that an offense which is sacked six times and scored 10 points on sustained drives is such a juggarnaught.

Why even play the game?

Pull that lucky hail mary horseshoe outta Eli's arse 1st

Despite not having a particularly good game and missing a lot of easy passes, Flacco put up 300 yards against the Patriots defense yesterday. It's not likely to be about slowing down the Giants receivers as much as it will be about pressuring Eli and getting a couple of turnovers.

We're going to give up yards, its been that way all year and it isnt changing now. If we hold the Giants to 20 we have a great chance of winning.

It ain't gonna be easy, I'll tell you that. They have to have the worst defensive matchup for us out of any team in the NFL. Maybe minus the Saints.

This, and red zone D. They can't let the big plays go for touchdowns and the Giants don't the strong running game they had in 2007

Good point on the red zone defense, and yesterday's game is a good example of the sort of impact it can have. If the Ravens don't get it done in the red zone yesterday, the Patriots score in the 30s.

It's simply amazing how every opponent magically becomes the worst possible matchup.

This seriously. I can't believe people are still worrying about the yards we are giving up. We have been using fundimentals all year to force other teams to have perfect drives to score on us on 80 yard drives for the most part. If they make mistakes we capitalize on them or we tighten up once they get to the red zone.

The story has been like this all year. The defense has given up 30 points, once this year and that was in a game where we turned the ball over 4 times and gave the Bills short fields to work with over and over again. Our offense has scored 30 or more 13 times this year. The defense hasn't had to stop all those yards.

"Anytime you can pressure the quarterback with three or four guys and drop the rest into coverage, that's good defense."

We slow down the Giants receivers by sustaining drives that result in points on offense, winning the T.O.P. battle, and beating the hell out of Eli.

Besides pressuring Eli (physically) but collapsing the pocket and bringing people from the edge…I also think TB can pressure Eli by scoring 7…again…and again. That may force Eli into sloppy throws and mistakes.

and that one 30 was assisted by a pick 6. We've given up 30 on defense literally 0 times this year.

Keep them off the field.

About 100 yards of that, if not more, came on 3 broken pass plays when the Patriots showed a lot of pre-snap confusion among safeties and CBs. There's a reason those players were totally uncovered. Our safeties and CBs are not on the same page.

The Ravens success throwing had a lot more to do with the Patriots DBs being out of sorts than it had to do with their natural abilities. You could see long before the snap that the Patriots were about to get hit big.

Maybe SF can lend us Aldon and Justin Smith, and send them over with Patrick Willis too?

That may have had something to do with the NYG's "10 pts on sustained drives and 6 sacks."

Run the ball. Long drives. Short passing game. Run the ball some more. Keep them off the field. Limit their possessions.

Or hire the Eagles defensive coordinator for a game. They own Eli.

Yeah

And maybe not. They seemed to have zero trouble giving up 30+ points and 500 yards of offense to New Orleans.

Response should usually be accompanied by a point.

Have all the players chew lots of gum during warm ups and then spit it out over by the Giants sideline. When the players step in the gum there feet will stick to the turf slowing them down.

Did anyone else enjoy seeing Eli's white shirt muddied up yesterday? He spent a lot of time on the ground.

The way I see it is to constanly pressuring Eli. The key word here is "pressuring" and keep on pressing it! Because the Giants O-line is pretty good and their WRs are quick. If Eli have the time to stand in the pocket, he going to have a field day. Even when the pocket collapsed, he still can scramble and find Cruz, Nick, and Manningham open because of their explosiveness. And not to mention their TE Ballard -- similar to Steelers TE Heath Miller who we couldnt stopped him from catching the ball. I think is a monumental challenge for Bill Belichick to stop the Giants offense and to win the SB.

Prayer and MHK.
