I hate the Colts as much as any other Patriots fan, but I can't deny what I see in front of me. If you take away our historical run this season they would have the best team I've seen since the dynastic teams of the 80s and 90s, and are much better than the Broncos and Packers of the late 90s.

This thread is not to bash our team in any way. I would gladly take Brady over Manning, Belichick over Dungy, and would objectively bet on a Patriots' victory if we play them again. A bunch of calls went their way, but they also led by two possessions with 10 minutes left.

But, come on, remember when everyone was saying a few years ago "imagine if that Colts offense had a phenomenal defense on the other side of the ball" ? Well it's here. The Colts have lost two games, one of which was to the historically greatest team thus far (us) and the other to an 8-5 team where they turned the ball over 6 times and missed a chip shot field goal to win.

All I'm saying is our team is going to need to put it all on the line if we play them again. We need to play a nearly perfect game to beat them, as they do to beat us.

Let's embrace the challenge and excitement. We are probably witnessing the two best teams since the '89 Niners, and they are going head to head in the same year.

God, not this again. Nobody is forgetting the Colts. They're a kickass team. We know.

Dallas, Green Bay and Jacksonville are all on the same level as the Colts, and the Titans could beat them if Young actually plays decent football.

You spent too much time watching the Colts/Ravens game tonight. Keep in mind the Ravens were physically and emotionally spent after last week. It couldn't have been more obvious.

I'd take the Colts over any of those teams. They are a pretty good team, maybe the best of the Dungy era but when it comes to Pats/Colts, we are going to be too much for those guys on January 20th in Foxboro. The Colts only scored 20 on their home turf against NE.

No, it isn't just tonight. Their defense, in my opinion, is better than the Steelers and the best in the league, and that isn't because of just today. Their weak link is their special teams coverage... it seems like most of their points allowed in non-garbage time come from that horrible unit.

I dunno I think I feel like the Steelers and the Cowboys are close to being on their level.

Jacksonville would probably have beaten the Colts, in Indianapolis, if the officials hadn't jobbed the Jags on the fumble/no fumble/incomplete call. Hell, if the officials had called the personal foul both ways instead of just flagging the player who retaliated after getting thrown to the ground, Jacksonville STILL probably would have won the game.

The Colts won't be able to stop the Dallas pass rush and Sanders isn't big enough to intimidate T.O., Green Bay can use Woodson and Harris to clamp down on the Colts' receivers, and Tennessee can just beat the hell out of them.

We obviously disagree, but I thought I'd explain my reasoning.

Steelers and Cowboys would pose a pretty interesting match if either of them were up against the Colts.

The Colts have excelled for years, and they're battle-tested.

This may not be their year, what with their first chance at a post-Lombardi letdown plus injuries to a couple of their stars. But they sure are an elite team.

At least, they are if you assume that the refereeing will stay the same as it has been for the past couple of years.

Oh sorry, the Colts are completely irrelevant to the Patriots.

He is just trying to make sure we don't over look them. We can say and believe what ever we want, but Indy IS a tough team to beat. I expect us to beat them in January, but it is far from guarenteed. hehe
