I hate the Colts as much as any other Patriots fan, but I can't deny what I see in front of me. If you take away our historical run this season they would have the best team I've seen since the dynastic teams of the 80s and 90s, and are much better than the Broncos and Packers of the late 90s.
This thread is not to bash our team in any way. I would gladly take Brady over Manning, Belichick over Dungy, and would objectively bet on a Patriots' victory if we play them again. A bunch of calls went their way, but they also led by two possessions with 10 minutes left.
But, come on, remember when everyone was saying a few years ago "imagine if that Colts offense had a phenomenal defense on the other side of the ball" ? Well it's here. The Colts have lost two games, one of which was to the historically greatest team thus far (us) and the other to an 8-5 team where they turned the ball over 6 times and missed a chip shot field goal to win.
All I'm saying is our team is going to need to put it all on the line if we play them again. We need to play a nearly perfect game to beat them, as they do to beat us.
Let's embrace the challenge and excitement. We are probably witnessing the two best teams since the '89 Niners, and they are going head to head in the same year.
