Don't like that list at all except for Rudy, where's Brian's Song, North Dallas Forty, The Longest Yard? I'd even settle for The Waterboy, The Replacements or The Blind Side before that list. As far as golf movies go , how can you not put Caddyshack #1? And Caddyshack 2 was awful.

to be honest i've never seen Brian's Song or North Dallas Forty (never even heard of this). Longest Yard was OK, but not a Burt Reynolds fan.

Caddyshack 1 was by far the better movie, hence why it was up there before Caddyshack 2. Tin Cup was on there as well, I just uploaded the wrong version

Am I missing something here? Procopio is referring to Shawna Waldron as a former child star turned adult film star.....only from everything I've seen on the internet, that is far from an accurate description of her. Waldron was in Poison Ivy 4, which is an R rated erotic thriller/drama, where she was featured in a "sex scene", but to my knowledge she hasn't shot any actual pornographic material, and she's still acting in Hollywood productions. Drew Barrymore was in Poison Ivy, and Alyssa Milano played the main character in part 2....are we to believe they're both "Adult film stars" as well?

Thanks for saving me some time; I was just about to search the internet to try and figure that out for myself.

Maybe he meant shes an adult and a film star, not necessarily an porn film star.

I completely agree that some of the rankings are head scratchers (e.g., I can see omitting one of the football movies you mentioned, but not all of them; the Pistol over Hoosiers; Major League 2 over Field of Dreams; Mighty Ducks 2 over Slapshot; Caddyshack only 4th best golf movie.)

However, in Mike's defense the lists are his favorite movies for each sport. He's not saying these are the highest quality, best screenplay, best acting, best directing, etc.; they're simply his personal favorites. If I listed my top ten overall favorite movies there would probably be a couple that would not be among any expert's top 100 movies of all-time - but just because that is so it doesn't mean I don't enjoy that particular movie.

Me, I end up watching The Replacements every time I'm channel surfing and I see it playing; yet I've seen it listed multiple times as 'the worst football movie ever made'. One person might rank Jerry Maguire number one; it might not crack the top twenty in the next person's list. Myself, I think I would say Invincible is the best football movie ever made - and I am sure I will get far more people to tell me that I'm wrong than I would get to agree with me. After that I'd say Rudy, Longest Yard (original), North Dallas Forty, Brian's Song, We Are Marshall, The Program, Remember The Titans, Varsity Blues, and All The Right Moves would round out my top ten - though it's tough to omit The Waterboy and The Replacements.

Maybe an easier question is this: what was the worst football ever made? I think I would say Necessary Roughness, followed by Wildcats and Heaven Can Wait.

Meh...The Replacements is cool as ****. Aside from the Matrix that's probably the only other movie i can stand Keanu Reeves in.

Ali was great. The Tyson documentary was fantastic too.

Raging Bull is a classic. I haven't seen Requiem yet.. who is in it?

Jackie Gleason and Anthony Quinn (1962). I agree with you on the Tyson doc, it was very good.

Technically you could possibly say that is what he meant, but I've never seen anyone word it that way, unless they were talking about a pornographic actress. From the article...
Basically, he should change the wording, to avoid any complaints from her, or her loved ones.

Triumph of the Spirit with Willem Dafoe, Edward James Olmos and Robert Loggia. Sad backdrop but a great movie. True story.

If we are voting I would have to put Brian's Song and The Longest Yard on the list. I never would have put The Repacements in a top 5 if I didnt read this thread but I have to admit I watch it every time I'm channel surfing also.

For boxing I really like the Clint Eastwood movie Million Dollar Baby

Outside of Rudy his choices are pretty sad. Could he have come up with a football movie that shows less knowledge about football then Any Given Sunday?
