During the game, Dallas was getting hit with quite a few holding calls.

I honestly felt a little bad for them and took the attitude of, "C'mon refs, just let them play".

Then I saw the last two holding calls, where both Pats players, one being Bruschi, were not held......but absolutely tackled.

At that point, I knew "the Boys" were wearing out. They had nothing left at that point.

I've never seen holding so blatant. My guilt disapted quickly.

I saw at least a few more plays where Wilfork was being held and it wasn't called. Matt Mosley said in his blog that a Cowboy o-lineman said Wilfork and Warren wore them out.

I saw a TON of holding calls that did not get called. I was complaining for a decent portion of the second half (to the disdain of people watching with me). Watch Jarvis Green on just about every snap he plays in the second half. He gets held and still hits Romo.

I thought that Warren was getting "mugged" all day long. Also TO had two handfulls of shirt during one of those Babrer runs. My wife was on the phone wiht her sister during the game, and I heard he say, "yeah, he is in his Bruschi shirt, sitting five feet from the TV screaming, "that's holding!".

The Bruschi call on fourth and one, was undisputable, he tackled him in the hole.

I felt the same way. I was thinking it almost seemed unfair, and you KNOW the message boards in Indy and Pitt would be full of comments on referee favoritism.

On the replay of the play where the guard grabbed Bruschi around the thigh and tackled him, I couldn't help laughing out loud. IIRC, that was next to Barber's "hole."

My wife asked: "you're not allowed to do that?"

I really think the Refs were only calling what they "had" to. You know, the blatant ones they might lose their jobs over. Many iffy ones went for the 'Boys as a "no-call".

The boys got away with a lot of holds, the ones that were called were few and far between!

Their head coach will start to shine with his true colors as the undisciplined plays increase.

I could see on replays more than one hold that was not called. One was on Harrison where somebody had him under both sholderpads and Harrison still went on to push him the ball carrier out of bounds.

I was sitting there thinking "Hope the Cowboys fans see that before they complain about lopsided officiating."

Jarvis Green was abusing whoever tried to block him all day long, but couldn't get a holding penalty to save his life, even when there was a leg tackle or a chokehold from behind. He might as well have been wearing a saddle.

The 4th down pickup by Barber that was negated was the one the Cowboys whined about and called questionable. There lineman literally form tackled Bruschi. The funny part is if he had just laid a hat on Bruschi Barber probably falls forward and get the yardage for the first but not a 4 yard gain but I don't see how the refs cannot call a take down that blatant.

Clean up your game and stop whining or you'll never get better.

There were a lot more holding calls not called. There were several instances where the Cowboys had their arms wrapped around players from behind, at a couple points almost like headlocks. However, I heard on the radio (I forget who I think it was Carucci) saying that the league made a quiet point of emphasis to refs to be looser with holding calls, becaus eit stalls drives and they want more passing offense.

    Nice image!

I was in my underwear, smokin a cigar calling Phillips a bum, and then chuckling every time I said it with the thought of his dad and his cowboy hat.

Amen. I thought Dallas was going to send in the Iron Shiek, to put Jarvis in the Camel Clutch.

I liked the way the game was called. Both teams actually were holding a bit. But they kept their flags away unless it was clearly it was going to affect the outcome. The hold on 4th and 1 in a 7 point game had to be called. Both teams had receivers that were making contact with defenders with their hands while the ball was in the air, but they kept their flags in their pockets unless it mattered, like the offensive PI on Moss that negated the touchdown. Another good call. I thought a hold could be called for a safety, but an official really needs to sure to call a foul in the end zone. Plus, the patriots had plenty of changes to get Barber despite any foul on the play, and I can see an official not going out of his way to call it there.

Harrison had a clear PI on the play where the Cowboys took the lead. Not sure why that one wasn't called. Maybe the official was ready to call it but kept the flag in his pocket since the ball was caught anyway.

The officials didn't decide this game. Anyone who says they did is just a cowboy homer. Very good crew. I'd take them again any time. That's a crew that you want if you're the better team.

Every holding call seemed very legit, and I had them called before the refs did, and if that happens, it means it was definitely holding, so I don't feel sorry for Dallas. LIkewise as with above ^^^, there were even more plays where it looked like they got away with more holding.

Slagathor did you even watch their O-Line...like at all? They were lucky they didn't have 20+ penalties on them. So much holding by the Cowboys.

Honestly, I didn't start watching their line too closely until the 4th quarter.

But as I've heard, they had had been holding pretty blatantly all game.
