At one time on this board I recommended that anyone interested in the Constitution read "The Heritage Guide To The Constitution" which of course subjected me to "neo-con" comments from some on this board. It is rather heartening to know however that at least some people are reading this book. Look what was on the desk of Sen. Tom Coburn during the Alito confirmation hearings.

Tom Coburn cares about nothing else except getting Roe v Wade overturned and he beleives Alito is the way to accomplish that. He is about as single minded an individual as they come.

If he can find a way to minipulate the words of the constitution to forward that strategy, that is what he'll do. He is a slave to the Christian Coalition.

    Here's a quote:

So, the debate, for the American public -- and the real debate here is about Roe.

I don't think that is such a bad thing. As Patrick Buchanan pointed out, the word abortion was brought up in this hearing more than any other word. He sums up the issue more eloquently that I can in this article here.

I'm not an advocate of abortion rights as a form of birth control, but he is one of those people that opposes rights even in rape and incest cases and cases where it will adversly effect the mothers health.

His motives are all about his single minded agenda. That copy of the constitution is there for manipulative purposes only.

Abortion wasn't made illegal until the middle of the 19th century. We should not interpret the Constitution to forbid abortion, as our founders clearly didn't intend it that way. A true originalist would not overturn Roe v. Wade. The conservatives, where convenient, are quite liberal in their interpretation of the Constitution.

Even my wife, who if Coburn had his way he would choose the childs life over hers and I would have no say in the matter. Maybe YOU should read it again.

Life, Liberty and Happiness takes a back seat to the Bible-thumping high and mighty hipocritical right wingers. They beleive we need these unborn children for the Christian army.

How about full withdrawal from Iraq, a ban on abortion AND the Death Penalty?

Just wondering...How many times have you been knocked-up from a rape or getting molested by your mom's boyfriend? Would you want an abortion if that happenned to you? Do you consider abortion wrong under ANY circumstance?

PFIEL, I am no more able to negotiate a woman's right over her own body as you you are able to negotiate the right of the fetus to live. It's her body, and always will be. Neither divorce nor death change that fact. A woman who does not think abortion is murder should be allowed to have an abortion. It's a moral issue.

Three thousand dead people, the City of New York, the pentagon and the United States Of America had their "Constituional Rights Violated" on 9/11 by murdering filthy savages.

The President of the United States Of America with the approval of the "Scummy Democrat Backstabbers" retaliated, he went after the people responsible for 9/11, they are "THE FANATICAL FACTION, THE TERRORIST FACTION OF THE ISLAMIC RELIGION, MUSLIM TERRORISTS"

The whole world knows that Iraq itself did not attack America, Saddam was a PIG MUSLIM TERRORIST he is now gone, we are now killing and destroying "Terrorist Muslims Pigs In Iraq" we are at war with them and will be for many years.
We could surrender tomorrow, do the "wailing blubbering liberals" really believe the Terrorist Muslims will leave us alone, they probably do, they live in their own little dream world where everybody hugs and kisses for the rest of their life.

America had its Constitutional Rights violated on 9/11 this president is trying to make sure it never happens again.

Very few servicemen serving in Iraq are interviewed by Cute Perky Katie, CNN CBS, PBS, NPR, or the NY Times, because these "Lefties" don't like what they hear from the troops.

The great majority of the troops support what we are doing and they support their President.
It is the Bush Haters that "YOWL THE LOUDEST"

If GORE/KERRY were running the war Nancy Pelosi/Murtha/Sean Penn would all be joining the army.
