Remember way back when she turned $1,000 into $100,000 in cattle futtures or somesuch? Small potatoes.

The center noticed a significant hike in his {Congresscritter Mollohan}net worth between 2000 and 2004 and started to investigate.
According to the policy center, "Mollohan's 2000 Financial Disclosure Report listed his income-producing assets as being worth from $179,012 to $562,000 with liabilities of $170,000 to $465,000....Just four years later, Mollohan's 2004 Financial Disclosure Report showed him with assets worth $6,313,025 to $24,947,000 offset by liabilities in the $3,665,011 to $13,500,000 range."
Reports also show him owning an oceanfront beach house on Bald Head Island, N.C., valued up to $5 million. The New York Times article said $103 million of taxpayer money, garnered through earmarks, helped fund a glass-and-steel headquarters for the Fairmont-based Institute for Scientific Research, one of the non-profit agencies Mollohan helped establish. It has a swimming pool, sauna and spa.

Ah, the 'culture of corruption' as the current saying goes.

That's pretty good. Let's see if like Hillary, he's simply a victim of a Republican orchestrated, taxpayer funded witchhunt or if he's more like Duke Cunningham, the poster boy of Republican values. He's sticking to his guns, but he does have some explaining to do.

Agreed. No more than two Senate terms (12 years total) or three terms in the House (6 years total). These people that have been here forever all think they're king and answer to nobody.

The framers of the Constitution never anticipated career politicians nor those who would become wealthy from public 'service'. That being said, it IS the right of a democracy to be stupid and re-elect John Kerry time and again.

I'm not opposed to term limits, just not sure that is the answer. How did John Kerry's name get thrown in there with the above posts?

Because he is a lying two faced traitor skunk, that shouldn't even be elected to chase dogs let alone be a US Senator, the people get what they deserve.

Uncle Teddy, the only memorable thing he has done is kill a girl and he declared a day about a 100 yrs ago for Carl Yastremsky, the people get what they deserve, Taxachussets has both of them.

All Politicians are swine, yes that includes Bush, you don't make it to the White House by being "Mr Nice Guy".

The people have to try and pick the best of a bad lot.

When a politician finishes his/her term they should be shot.:bricks:

Well of course, how else would they get established? There isn't any way other than a constitutional amendment.

Which is precisely what happened in the case of the presidential example you cited.

I think we're both saying the same thing... which is essentially nothing at all.

Me, I'm shooting myself now that the 3 of us are in agreement, however banal.
