Except for travel between NYC and Boston or DC, where would it really find use?

You don't use a high speed train as a commuter train after all.

So what part of my post where I said "except for Boston-NYC or NYC-DC what would you use it for" didn't you understand?
You really don't have much command of the English language, do you?

They can bring the fastest trains they want here ... we can't use them.

The only way we can use them is to replace ALL OUR TRACKS.

Unless that happens those trains aren't coming here. Most top speeds in the NE are @80 mph because there are too many bad spots.

That's the point. There's not enough traffic going Boston to Miami to make it feasible. So Boston-DC or Boston-NYC is about it. You don't have these high speed trains making a ton of stops on a run. That's why you have high speed trains and commuter trains.

    And I'm not your son.

Well , with todays price of fuel and gas , soon it could be a very good alternative.
    It 's the future .

Why are you so routinely nasty, while routinely calling for civility?

Most of these high speed trains dont even use the type of track we are use to here, to do it right they would need to lay down a completely new system because alot of these trains use a magnetic field to move. Seeing as it takes my city alone 5 months to come out and spend 10 minutes repairing a pothole i dont see them spending in the hundreds of billions to create a new railroad system. We would be lucky to see it going from just boston to nyc, all the way to miami is laughable and will never happen in our lifetimes.

Rail has a three to one fuel efficiency advantage over trucking and there is a shortage of truck drivers.

Warren Buffet is not Stupid ,he bought Norfolk Southern Corp (NSC) and Union Pacific Corp (UNP) .

Bingo. High speed rail? Amtrack is only afloat cuz it gets federal bail outs every year and a half, and somehow, someway, high speed rail is going to be profitable here. LOLOLOL. It's profitable in those other countries because it's cheap, and the distances are managable. Boston to NYC for example. People will spend a couple hours on a train, but not a day. I can't fathom LA to Boston. Miami to Boston. Dallas to Seattle. LOLOLOL. People in this country fly.

Rail is the future? Did somebody actually say that?

Behind what Wes? We're also last in donkey powered transportation. It's also the rave in some countries because of how expensive oil is. Matter of fact, donkeymobile's not only run on weeds, but they also provide farmers with fertilizer.

This model gets 32 miles per weed.

For heavy duty hauling, this arsemobile gets a whopping 25 per weed.

    Imagine the military savings.

We could eliminate Humvee's altogether. We're so behind! (insert green smiley)

It's not nasty. It was a serious question. Every time I posted last night wes said I was saying the opposite of what I actually said. He even posted that I said we didn't need trains--which I didn't say.

And I haven't called for civility for a while. I could give a crap about civility any longer.

See, there he goes again. Friggin' Real World posts pictures of donkey carts and I get blamed for it.

Ergo, my questioning ww83's ability to read and understand English.
