The Boston Globe reported this morning that potential jurors in the Aaron Hernandez trial are being asked if they are Patriots fans and if they've ever gone to a game.
The judge ought to know that Patriots fans don't care what happens to this guy. He was a major reason why the Patriots struggled through the 2013 season. But his defense lawyers should definitely try to pack the jury with Ravens fans. They might not acquit him, but they'd probably want to erect a statue of him outside Gillette Stadium.
FALL RIVER — Are you a fan of the New England Patriots? Have you gone to any games? How many?
More than 1,000 potential jurors who streamed into the Fall River Justice Center over three days were asked these and dozens of other queries in a 15-page questionnaire designed to help prosecutors and defense attorneys find a jury of 18 people to sit for the murder trial of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez.
Prosecutors and defense will pore over the questionnaires and Thursday will tell Bristol Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh which people they believe should be struck from the jury pool based solely on their answers.
