he now need 11 he should get that this season

Surpassing Elway, who so often crushed the Patriots, will be sweet for Pats fans.

But passing Unitas on that list is equally, if not more noteworthy. His stats may not be quite as impressive, but that's due to playing in a different era; despite that Johnny Unitas is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and Brady will be just the seventh to have more career passing touchdowns.

I'm a little surprised Brees is so close to Brady on the list considering he had some rough early years, he has 7 less starts and he's 2 years younger than Brady.

Geez, it's pretty crazy that Brees is only 32. He's put together a damn impressive career for his age. Heck, Rodgers is 28 and he's only in his 4th full season as a starter. Brees is in double digits.

It's an interesting comparison between the two. Brady entered the NFL one year earlier, but missed the 2008 season. Neither played in their rookie year but both have started since then. They've been very close in career passing yardage for a few years now, moving up side by side in those rankings. They'll likely become the fifth and sixth players in NFL history to pass for over 50,000 yards in their careers.

Brady racked up some more laurels yesterday. Tied Montana for career wins (regular and post season) and did it at 34 vs. 38. And Montana's career started in the 16 game season era... Tom has the better overall winning percentage, more TD's, fewer INT's and a better career QB rating.

He also tied Manning as one of only two QB's in NFL history to pass for 350+ yards and 3 TD's with 0 INT in 8 games... And apparently he is now (thru 11 games) the fastest QB to 3600+ yards in NFL history.

The really interesting thing is that the Chargers were so disappointed with Brees after 3 years in the league that they drafted a QB with the #1 overall pick in 2004. He's gone to the Pro Bowl pretty much every year since.

That speaks volumes about the Chargers..

Brady has been more consistent he's whole career but Brees has averaged over 4500 yards per season the last 5 years and this year is on pace for over 5000 again

There are 3 active QB's in the top-12.

Only 1 of them plays for an outdoor stadium team.

Also don't forget that the Dolphins brought in Brees for a workout and interview but decided instead to trade for Daunte Culpepper. Brees then signed with his second option, the Saints. That decision was a really big turning point for both franchises.

That wasn't the first time Miami passed Brees over either. After Dan Marino retired in 1999 the Dolphins went with career backup Jay Fiedler as their QB in 2000, and he had a 14 TD/14 INT season. Miami had a chance to draft Brees the following April but instead went with DB Jamar Fletcher with the 26th overall pick.

I never would have guessed that Fran Tarkenton would be No. 4 all time in TD passes.

I'd say Brady has a very good shot at getting above Marino.
