Ian Rapaport posted the list months ago, but all that was mentioned was how Guyton got the third-biggest check in the league in 2009 (he also had the second-biggest check on the team as a rookie, after Matt Cassel).

I won't print the entire list here, but I will give the top 12 recipients. Note that it's only based on snaps played and salary cap figures, NOT on how well they play or any other statistics. More importantly, this pool may NOT be paid out this year, since there's no salary cap.

1. ILB Gary Guyton $349,437 (67% of snaps)
2. CB Jonathan Wilhite $204,739 (48%)
3. S Brandon McGowan $182,471 (64%)
4. OLB Tully Banta-Cain $163,748 (51%)
5. OT Sebastian Vollmer $158,397 (43%)
6. WR Julian Edelman $146,098 (23%)
7. DT Myron Pryor $137,079 (22%)
8. CB Darius Butler $122,305 (44%)
9. OG Dan Connolly $112,396 (34%)
10. S Brandon Meriweather $90,898 (72%)
11. RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis $86,613 (16%)
12. "S" Bret Lockett $82,168 (12%)

Good find, I think the numbers are interesting especially when you look at the percentage of plays that I didn't realize a lot of these guys were in.

Wilhite in 48%? This is a problem.

I know that this is how a lot of people on this board feel, and I can understand that because we have watched him get beat quite a few times, but I think the Patriots are pretty happy with his progress. I really wouldn't be surprised if they go into the year with Wilhite being the top slot corner guy, and McCourty would be the first guy off the bench to fill in for the outside guys (Bodden and Butler).

His snaps may go down somewhat, but I honestly think there is a good shot he will still play at least 40% of the time.

I had no idea that Butler played 44% of snaps. Hopefully that will continue to go up and he and McCourty will take away from Wilhite.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Also surprised at TBC number; I thought he played more.
